She took the anti-derivative of the integral which was why 'du' disappeared. She then substituted the original '1 + tant' for 'u'. You can review her earlier videos for a more detailed explanation.

@@mathwithprofessorv i use this book! Calculus: Early Transcendentals By James Stewart! 7.6 is about Integration Using Tables and Computer Algebra Systems, 7.7 is about Approximate Integration, 8.1 is about Arc Length, lastly 9.3 is about Separable Equations!
