Did mine back in Jan on 2012 XF. Def a pain in the ass. I bought a second hand inner case off a guy and it was not for the updated jack shaft. 🤣 few beers trying to whack on a bearing until it blew apart and cross referenced some parts. Good as new now tho. Bdx chain case guard might be in the future.
Built my ultra BB 180hp triplet rocket, blew the case at Grizzly lake Brandy wine falls on a big climb. Blackcomb choppers hauled me out for $600, smoking deal. Fixed that with EVO upgrade then spun the crank after a huge jump. Welded crank, Tison m-10 159" Holtz front end from 04 vert escape, long travel fox airs, mikuni flat slides line bored 1mm for exact match, tuned to within 30 degrees of each other, Wildwood brakes, aluminum rotors the only way to tune is with EGT's. Then built the exact sled in a 800 twin for g/friend but electric start, kinda gaeh but gals right. Just finishing a 1500 monster.
Since you have a drop and roll, and so you don't have to change your chaincase again when you hit a boulder, I highly recommend Jensen Precision Machining. Solid chunk of aluminum that's milled out for some awesome stout guards. I hit a 5 foot boulder and only came away with some scratches. If I still had the stock plastic pieces I would have been replacing a bunch of parts. Oh, and the parts from a 2015 ZR 7000 SNO PRO RR (or any similar model) to convert to a manual tensioner before the auto blows up on you: 2602-465 Plate, Ratchet 2623-057 Washer, Sealing - Rubber 2602-707 Spacer 0123-150 Nut 2602-735 Screw, Adjuster 1702-400 Tensioner, Chain - Assembly [Re-use the spring, 2602-336] Love the vids BTW!
@@Uncharted0 I pasted a link but may have gotten removed, search for them and go to their Contact Us page for info about their guards. You can also find them on Facebook, I'm sure they have some dealers in CA but probably can get you a set.
Garbage chaincases did a 2017 zr7000 with 1200km this year. Cracks all over case, top bolt on cover broke off at seal. All bearings, gears, chains ect toast. Never again, goodbye kitty cat forever.
In a prior video you stated you use 75/90 in your chain case. In this video you showed you use a basic synthetic. Did you switch or just a sponsor thing?
DIGIT9 PLZ HELP!! awesome video! I'm putting my chain case cover back on and I forgot to label where each of the four oil lines plumb to. Please help me!!! Thank you in advance mister!
Ricky I'm a sidewinder guy and feel your pain, but even with the weight of em, why not run a 4 joke with reliable boost and a few supporting mods. Either way you always get shit running plus wrenching on your own means alot to this Canadian 💯
@@DIGIT9 I hear ya loud and clear buds. some of this cat shit engerinering and QC needs to be addressed tho, I know they all break but seems more often then not with the Yama Cats
All that work, and you still will have the same issues.no offense, but belt drives are legit!ive torn down brand new sleds and ditching a chaincase is the first thing to garbage.
Some things never change.. snowmobiles are STILL a pain in the ass!
Jockey it, the seat is for girls.lol
I have a factory set of guards if you want them. but I recommend JPM guards for your disk and chain case.

I swear, I spent 10 hours riding and 10 hours fixing. It's always something,
I just replaced the chain case on my Riot this fall, what a pain in the ass job. Makes me miss the old sleds, they were so much easier to work on.

@@DIGIT9 hey! Y can’t I seem to get my brake line bled on this chassis ? Anything I’m missing? Any tips would b greatly appreciated.
Make sure the bleed screw is your highest point !

lucky to find some used, that way you dont have to play the backorder game with cat.
Any reason why you didn’t go to a belt drive? Just curious. Love every video.
Belt drives are Very Inefficient , uses up too much energy !!
@@DIGIT9 isnt it quite opposite? Its lighter and less rotating mass
@@crodles But the Belt needs to be so tight that it takes more power to spin it !
all parts are wear parts- seems to be the #1 rule of sled repair/maint.
When you rip it about do you have to send it in to get the oil pump prograded
No
I KNOW ITS A BIT OFF TOPIC ,BUT WHERE DID YOU GET THAT HEADLAMP///
I’ll get you the link !

Basically same kind of oil just different brand !!
It’s never the outer part of the chain case it always has to be the inner part that breaks.

Hey, on my chain case the bolt strip and won’t feed in and it’s leaking a lit bit of oil is there a way I can fix this
Hey bud , gonna use your question on our “question of the week “ vid segment , stay tuned , got quite a few options for ya !!
Quick fix , put a nut on inside of chaincase on tensioner bolt as well as outside , tighten accordingly !!
What is the lumber on the lift for?
Keep track off the ground
@@DIGIT9 makes sense!
This I why I don’t want a newer sled. Only would have to take off the can for the older sleds or an Arctic cat😂😂

Let me know how those parts are thats the guy that wanted 750 for the clutch
But i went to robyn in kamloops instead
Robyns marine
And my secondary went
They Definitely don't engineer them to work on and why I sold all my newer then 2010 stuff and went backwards. More time on the trail.
time do a specialty belt drive and install belly pan for that added protection. just completed belt drive on my alpha few days ago.
All that work, and you still will have the same issues.no offense, but belt drives are legit!ive torn down brand new sleds and ditching a chaincase is the first thing to garbage.
Ill never own a yami/cat or work on one. Hard pass. And yes they all break but the engineering in these things is terrible.
When will you switch your ride to a Doo?
When someone gives us a demo for a season !
Don’t had mine and 3 of my buddys 850s blow up this year at 5k
They ALL break !!
@@drewkilcollins1199 I keep hearing this. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Yes but 4 in one group in the same season is a little ridiculous in my opinion where people are spending 15-20 grand on a sled
So your the guy who stole my chaincase, Travis promised it to me and then crickets. Only ended up with secondary from him.
I guess so !
@@DIGIT9Do you still have inner half, I run a belt drive and that tensioner piece wouldn't affect me at all to use your broken one.
Yes I do !
