I enjoy playing trumpet...your such an amazing talent.. I wanted to ask for a special piece from Les Miserables. Bring him home.... I really enjoy pieces that sing within while your playing. Thanks for considering it....
Fantastic stuff. You motivated me to pick up the trumpet again for the first time in years. However when I try play along I find my lips get tired quickly and I can’t play a whole 4 minute song like this. Would you recommend someone relearning trumpet just to practice scales and exercises for a few months to ensure good technique?
Hi Filthy Racoon. You are the winner 🏆 of my favorite TH-cam handle for the year. 😂 So, tiring quickly is certainly a problem when you haven't played in a long time. Nothing to be ashamed of there. The muscles in the lip and area surrounding the lips are very small, but with more playing, over time will come back. Now to answer your question, YES, you COULD practice scales and exercises, but most people would find that boring. Playing trumpet should be just that - play. I've always hated the word practice. Sounds too much like "work". Playing trumpet should be play. So here's my recommendation: Play every day. BUT, don't play to the point where you can't play anymore - when you start to tire, stop. Rest. Play again later in the day if you're motivated to do so. But the rest is just as important as the playing. And you'll need some simple things to play, so here's some of my past vids that you might find playable: th-cam.com/video/FpMGeLP3TeE/w-d-xo.html A Thousand Years th-cam.com/video/VMxcb7jGpeE/w-d-xo.html Thank You For Being a Friend th-cam.com/video/wHqcpRxmPCI/w-d-xo.html Can’t Help Falling in Love With You th-cam.com/video/auKv6POhBow/w-d-xo.html Somethin’ Stupid th-cam.com/video/rZ7tAA8Qy08/w-d-xo.html Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree th-cam.com/video/ZYXEbLS2dYk/w-d-xo.html Smile th-cam.com/video/Nr3yhHV48Eg/w-d-xo.html Great Balls of Fire th-cam.com/video/d6hO7uo3XI4/w-d-xo.html Head it Through The Trapevine th-cam.com/video/GuJ0ByWc9gU/w-d-xo.html Top Gun Anthem And because I'm a trumpet player who does "work" occasionally - here's a simple exercise you can do once a day if you're inspired to try it. Set a timer on your phone for 5 minutes. Then start on 4th space C and hold it (softly) for 20 seconds. Rest 10 seconds. Down to B (3rd line), hold it for 20 seconds. Rest 10 seconds., Down the scale to A, G, F, E, D and finally low C. Then rest at least 20 minutes before playing again. If you master this, try to hold the note for 25 seconds and resting only 5. (much tougher). This exercise will also teach you how to manage your air. (Big breath, and playing very soft and controlled). Sometimes I do this exercise chromatically (all sharps & flats) from High G (top of staff) all the way down to low F# below the staff. Best wishes to you. So glad you've rediscovered your trumpet. Keep me posted on your progress! -Bill B. Mr. B's Covers 🎺

This must be the first time I hear this band and the melody is nice. Also the recorder is fun to hear.
This just keeps building and building until you have everyone involved. Great work on your clean articulation and of course the recorders! Well done!
Fun stuff. Had to dust off my recorder for this one...
