Ralf Rangnick spotted Collyer and immediately requested his signing. The guy has such high success rate of talent ID,,there were other lads at the time he recommended but club refused to buy at atleast Collyer was Ralf's one signing

Have to question people getting worked up and / or overly critical with pre-season matches. Basically none of our stating XI are there and these matches pretty much all about fitness and sharpness. Even these youth lads we mostly ran out (2nd half especially) are finding fitness and form as well. We battered European giants under LVG in preseason and were horrible during the actual season ; its preseason, nothing more. I was watching on not the best wi-fi while on holiday and was quite a boring match but interesting to see some of the youth especially. Vitek def the standout of the match , performed very well and could do with a good loan. Collyer looking comfortable and solid , Amass to me showed a few glimpses but he is quite young and needs time.
With the midfield i do hope its more a solid pivot next season. This lone isolated 6 with the other two mids playing so far up the pitch never worked for us under ETH and leaves us wide open in the midfield. Near the end of last season with Amrabat the more disciplined deeper anchor next to Mainoo we looked much more solid. An Amrabat upgrade in that setup with legs and tenacity should take that to another level. Thats one thing ETH can not afford to tinker with ; this open exposed mid he seems to keep reverting to at times in both his 2 seasons at the club has to be abandoned and a proper CM / DM upgrade signed.

Not really even when players that Ten hag has coached for a long time like mount, casemiro, rashford and Hannibal in the first half the same old no style of play as the last 2 season showed up again

Wasn't a great watch. Rosenberg in better shape understandably. But, Vitek and Collyer stood out for Man U. Broholm impressed for them.
Colyer is nothing like rice. He is not a ball carrier but rice is more average on the ball.
Colyer is more if a Michael Carrick/rodri type of player. Dictating the game from deep with his two footed passing and keeping things calm and composed and is press resistant. He is more athlectic and energetic than those two tho so he covers lots of ground.
This game tho, he was played more like a box to box no. 8 instead of his usual no. 6 position, showcasing his versatility. Maxi oyadele was the no.6 for this match.
Hope the team gets their fitness and be game ready before the season starts, also we get our new signings in and players out before the end of August
The press are stressing but most of them are always against United, so their opinions don't matter

I watched it. But aye, it was a reserve game. None of our first team played. Nobody impressed. The GK did ok. But you also have to remember the level of the opposition. Will probs be Los Angeles before we put a real team out.

this is where United were a year ago...lost to Wrexham....had a poor pre season....lead to an 8th place finish, a negative goal difference...just 58 goals scored.
Big name signings will make little difference unless Ten Hags' team plays like a real United team, and just one shot on target in 90 minutes is nowhere near good enough Eric.

@@Espeo Yes Espeo, but pre season last summer was poor and by the end of September United were in a forlorn chase for 4th place, ending 8th.
Ten Hag admitted United did not play well today.
It was disgraceful watching a United team muster just one or two shots on goal in a game - it happened often last season, this season Ten Hag must do much better.

Yes it might be last season in terms of shots. but to damper any Rosenborg fans and ten hag outers hopes this team was mostly youngsters it’s all about getting fitness into the legs of the players so style of play is irrelevant there also Rosenborg had mostly experienced players and played more games to dampen the ten hag outers and Rosenborg hopes further plus today was the first day the youngsters trained but once there fit even the first team the philosophy will start to click a big positive was not playing an isolated no 6
