I feel like not many games come close to dragons dogma when it comes to music. Dragons dogma is a great example of the importance of good music in games, the game would not be the same without it. I find myself muting the music in many games because its obvious that the music was an afterthought. In dragons dogma it feels like each song was carefully created for that specific place and time in the game. The music is just one of the many things that makes this game so special.
I 100% agree with you. I forgot some of the gems which are in the game since I played it many years back when I first got my PS3. But while searching for the soundtrack I rediscovered those beautiful composed music pieces! :)
I personally love dullahan, griffin theme, and reversal of fate..... Still can't compared to end of stuggle, coils of light and eternal return from the DDDA
it has what i call skyrim syndrome. (though ironically skyrim's music actually has a lot of personality and i quite like it) where its not bad its just kinda... generic. it doesnt *feel* like much of anything or have a lot of personality. its just prototypical fantasy game music (except the re-orchestration of mortal combat, that was pretty cool but its still a dd1 song and while im not entirely sure i think i like the dd1 version better so...)
Life's been crazy for me lately, but to sit here and listen to this brings back memories of a simpler time. This music is more than just music, it's a portal to go back, reminisce. I wish I could listen to these songs for the first time again
DD1's music was so unique, like the intro and Character creator going for some electric guitars in the mix. DD2's music in comparison just feels like generic medieval stuff, more in the theme, but lost alot of charm.
dd2 does include some motifs of dd1 in many of its scores though. hidden in the newer themes. the overworld theme for the batahl area and the griffin escape at the beginning that I've noticed mainly. but i agree some themes i miss sorely. and as you say the charm of it all.
Every great RPG has its own beginning town that you like to return to, once in a while. I remember this being true for Zelda games, for example. But none of them ever hit as home as Cassardis. It might be because I grew up near the sea, so esthetically speaking it literally is home, but still.. That music of melancholy and peacefulness.. It's just perfect. I love this game so much. Thank you for making this.
@@soulrebel6309 my brother in christ, after sifting through this precious piece of music, one is inclined to belive that your ass never heard of jazz and/or rnb, let alone had a listen to it. in my opinion a far better description would be avishai cohenesque etno and world music style jazz run ins with evident influence from susumu hirisawas more sombre tunes, which would also makes sense since the man wrote the soundtrack for berserk 1997 which the game heavily evokes in its presentation, narative and general vibe.

I love dd2, but its music is sorely lacking compared to the 1st game.
Its not bad music, but the stuff in dd1 gave me goosebumps.
Couldn't name you one track from DD2 that stirred me at all.

DD2 has generic Medieval Fantasy music mostly, DD1 had that mystical thing going on.

unfortunately its not the same guy who did the soundtrack for dd1
Cassardis~ _Where legands are born and destinies are forged_
The beginning of Coils of light is hands down my favorite opening to any game track
What a shame Dogma 2 doesn't have a place like this.
Harve is a lot like this though. Similar distance to the capital, was attacked by the dragon, plagued by saurians.
@@Brospokenerd424 Not the same vibe.
Harve is a good place, nonetheless.
Any recommendations at all?

Didnt remeber the carácter creation music, that was epic and intense music

Thank you for leaving such a personal comment! :) I totally get what you mean. The soundtrack for the first Dragon's Dogma is just something else..
Thank you for making this playlist, it brings me back some great memories
Thanks for listening :)
Man, this video makes me lightheaded. I must be a wolf, cause tis weak to fire, Arisen!
You should be careful cousin, wolfs hunt in packs!

Wolfs hunts in packs Arisen
A snake is no dragon, But its truths are enough for anyone
So Cool.
This song used to crack me up while playing Dragons Dogma..cause I'd never heard a Jazz/R&B song in an RPG before😂
my brother in christ where did you find jazz or rnb in this track
@@lukadubak7476 the piano and the vocals. You don't hear the r&b runs he's doing? Clean ya ears bro
