Its slim profile is a big plus with this design, guess it makes the carrying more simple.
    Thanks for your review

That was one of the most thorough assessments of a tactical knife I've seen. Great info and insight.

Tops knives are my favorite blades. They are well made and tough as hell. I've handled this blade, and it's definitely purpose driven. It's absolutely worth looking into if you're in the market for a self-defense blade. Great blade and video.

I am an avid hunter, in an area that provides lots of meat harvest, along with animals that prey on them. Don't get me wrong, in the field, I am literally loaded for bear, because they are here in abundance (Grizz and Black). There are also good populations of wolf and cougar. Now I hunt with a semi auto .308, I also holster a 10mm semi auto. However, if separated from the pew-pews for some ungodly reason, I am confident that my Szabo Express would perform pretty well as a last resort weapon, the width and double edge would probably get anything other than a Grizz sow with cubs to think twice about it or die. I did have a chance to test this knife's performance while performing a coup d' gras on a 300LB Boar. This knife had 0 problems cutting the head of the thing. One thing to note while praising this knife, I also carry a Bark River Bravo to process animals, this knife is very good at what it's designed for, but not a skinner or a delicate meat cutter. To sum it up, great knife, I believe it could save my life.

This knife looks like it was built for saber grip, a knife that can slash while you use it to stab. My only real martial arts training (besides a class which was an overview on all the eastern ones for a year) was fencing, foil fencing. 4 years of that and muscle memory doesn’t die in how I hold a blade and extend it/lunge. Was blessed with a coach who was both a saber and foil Olympian, multi gold medalist/champion of Spain for two years.
The fact it is canted alongside a double edged spear point with a proper thumb ramp makes me believe this would be my safest practical choice. Ya know, besides a true Small Sword (sort of sword just for stabbing really which our presidents killed eachother with until the flintlock took over dueling) with a fencer's pistol grip... with a proper glove and that grip nothing else can give you such control.
Battling Blades has a Visconti grip Small Sword... search such if curious.
Part of me thinks the ultimate self defense knife may be the Rex Applegate collab with Boker wiith a modern twist on the FK Sykes. Perhaps a classic FK Sykes would do, worked for SAS and the OSS. Although these only come large.
However they never stopped producing this knife since SAS used it decades ago. For 80 bucks you can get a brand new exactly the same model for like 80 bucks. Pretty cool, any real collector should take note.

I got this knife and I love it. I wear it with my handgun and spare mags. It conceals well under my shirt, as it’s clipped to my belt.
