So when traffic's too heavy, the quad copter comes gets the pod and the skate "removes itself from the road, goes and parks itself"... so um, drives on the sidewalk? or...?

I was wondering the same. The skate will still be stuck in traffic till it finds a suitable place to park right? And meahwhile every person will be picked up by copters that will clutter the sky at the same time. Just imagine dozens of quadcopters all flying in to try and pick up pods at the same time...

lol boring old shit, reminds me 60s / 70s car-fly-ideas, in germany you can fly those big systems only up to 30m height without getting trouble with your next flightcontrol tower
