I don't really understand whether I would have to use my phone to turn lights on and off. Can I just set all the lights to my favourite colour and brightness, and then just flip the switches like I've done my whole life when I want 'em on or off? Or will turning the lights off with the switch reset the bulbs or something?
The main switch would reset the lights and take them out of sync with the app. Phillips hue makes a switch (battery powered) that you place next the regular one, it keeps everything in sync with your colors and brightness.
The app makes it so easy. You could program a setting that'll switch on and off at a particular time. Or you can add a shortcut on your phone's homescreen, so you can just tap it to switch it on/off. Or you could order Google Assistant to switch it on/of (if you have such device) and there are so many more options. You'll get used to it just as easy as how you got used to your mobile phone :)
Hi! I want to start integrating some Hue products in my Apple HomeKit application, I am starting to create a smart home. I have a tv with ambilight that has functionality to pair with a hue bridge, if I connect this to the bridge, and also connect another color lamp, will this work and show up in the HomeKit app? Thanks!
I am based in the UK and if I had mislaid my phone, I used to be able to just cycle the wall switch, (regular wall switch not Hue smart switch), on a off a few times and the light would turn on full brightness. However, this no longer works since early 2024. Therefore if I have mislaid my phone I cannot turn on my lights. ☹
I recently bought philips hue, but one of the 2 bulbs that came in the package becomes inaccessible by itself. I reset the bridge and tried again. It comes on once in a while and turns off after 10 seconds. What could be the reason? By the way, when the bulb goes out, it is also inaccessible through the app.
Did you resolve this? I have two strips on the ceiling but the controller is close to the TV. When i've noticed when i start streaming a movie to the TV I have this issue and assume it's the signal to the TV "blocking" the signal to the hue strip.
For example, i did that app to my phone.. can my husband or the kids have the same user account in their phones and do controll the same? The lights, etc
you keep saying you are connected to your wireless network. You were connected via wire! altho I don't understand why the filips Hue can connect wirelessly
It went all good so long bridge was added, and then it asked for updates, and went in "preparing (1/2)" where it was over 2h before I went crazy and turned it off. Hue Essentials app did connect bridge and it all works well, but it cand to updates. So...how can one appreciate Philips Hue, when it is peace of 💩 from the first experience!?
Why would people want lightbulbs like that? Surely you want stand alone light strips not screw in bulbs? Who wants to replace their normal big lights with these? Surely not many people?
I think it’s actually really good for anyone who wants to get into home automation, and for anyone who works long hours/travels it’s excellent to be able to turn on and off lights so it appears you are home. As well pairing any cameras with this is great!

SmartThings by Samsung supports Phillips Hue

Can you sync lights to Apple Music?
Unfortunately no, but you can sync them to your TV or monitor using HDMI. It requires one of their accessories but it seems to work pretty well.

Can the RGB be more precise than sliding the symbol inside the circle?
yes it's supposed to be 16 million colors so you must be able to do more
Can you switch your lights on and off remotely, say when you're on your way home, or even when abroad?
Yes, you can.
If the lamp doesn’t turn off due to it not being plugged into a smart plug, would my ceiling lights turn off or change color with voice command?
I also have this setup, but how is it possible that I can control all my lights in the app with my mobiledata on and WiFi/Bluethoot off?

Can everyone at home control the lights in their own phones or is it just one person in control?
Anyone that you invite to the app can.
Thank you 😊

They just have to log into your account
Amazing video definitely enjoyed watching and learning from it! Thank you very much❤
Wish you could group more than one light together. GE allows you to do this
You've got way more ethernet slots on the back of your router than I do.

Can’t find the N’more app you are talking about.

bad girl on fleek just started following you! congrats
I don't like the design of these light bulbs, unless they're used in a floor lamp under a lamp shade. So that you can't see them.
