- US President Joe Biden has blamed his debate performance last week on jet lag, telling reporters that he "wasn't very smart" for "travelling around the world a couple of times" before the debate.
Biden, 81, last returned from travel on 15 June, nearly two weeks ahead of the 27 June debate.
The Democratic presidential candidate appeared to struggle through some responses during a debate with former President Donald Trump last Thursday.

You'd be surprised how little they think of for themselves. What do you think all the advisors and strategists are there for? It's the same thing with Trump, Obama, everyone. Trump however is a pretty big outlier, although there are surely those people around him, but he's still known to ad-lib more than anyone, although he still gets talking points he's supposed to reach even if he does it in his own way.
Spent a week at Camp David resting and he was still jet lagged? Dementia is not curable.

Jet lag usually takes about one day per time zone flown to recover, it usually takes older adults longer to recover. So Biden flew about 8 time zones and it's not unreasonable to say he was still jet lagged.

If he did have a cold, did it last for 2 years. It is hard to have dementia and not have a telepropter to tell him what to say. Just having a bad night is an indication that his dementia is at the early stages and will be getting worse.

Out of respect for the American people and positon of commander in chief, the man should gracefully step aside and allow a competent candidate to run on his behalf.
