I get selling the watch for the gold . It is what it is, But melting it down is sad because you don't see that kind of jewerly any more...would have been cool to sell as a movie prop..now its gone..
The UK,europe and swiss were very strict on hallmarking and gold purity, before modern gold mixing technology a lot of the older gold jewelry had a higher purity than stamped on the piece as if it was found to be lower they would get in a lot of trouble, vintage Rolex in particular had a higher purity, not by much but just enough to cover themselves,also CRM are correct by melting pieces down as some have hidden metals inside.
Melting down a somewhat historical piece and selling fake diamonds not my thing but I appreciate your focus on your beautiful family and Cuban culture.

Natural stones will always be more expensive due to its inherent rarity a lab grown diamond could be replicated over and over and over again because it’s being created by man in a controlled environment. I understand lab diamonds are higher profit margins I’m sure which is why you love to sell them. No hate just facts. Love you guys!
Hey my friend. Thank you for supporting us and for voicing your opinion. Unfortunately, despite the preservation of value argument, the fact is that the great majority of the times, when you sell a regular mined diamond, you'll lose a lot more money. The reason is because the 30-50%+ that you lose when you sell it, it's a lot more (in dollar value) than 100% of the value of a lab grown diamond. Keep in mind that mined diamond is 10x as expensive as a lab grown one. Math doesn't lie and percentage loss is irrelevant here. Total dollar loss is the most important thing. Most diamonds are just really bad investments, lab or mined. That's why we recommend all our clients to learn a little more by watching the Showtime documentary Nothing Lasts Forever.
If you buy a natural diamond for 10k, you can get the same lab grown diamond of 2k. If the natural diamond loses 30% of its value and the lab diamond loses 80%, then with which diamond do you lose more money ? 😂
