I don't think I could upvote this enough honestly. I fell off Greys Anatomy because they don't know how to write off good characters (Mark, Lexi, George, Dereck, almost Izzie.) Without killing them. It's sloppy writing and makes me go..what was the point in them even being introduced? Lol. Ending it after season 6 with enough suspense, (George leaving, Izzie almost dying but pulling through, Webber stepping down FINALLLLLY, Bailey stepping up, meredith and Dereck getting secretly but intimately married and Christina moving on to greener pastures would've been perfect. The other characters are secondary to them. MAGIC should've reigned throughout and the series should've ended with them.

@Caleb Mayfield sometimes killing them off is the only way to stay true to the character because they never would have just left. Not all of them but I can’t specify which ones without giving you spoilers for seasons you haven’t watched yet. George could have just joined the army and left that way but in his case the actor that plays George specifically asked Shonda to kill the character. I feel for you though, it must be hard to binge all those deaths, I watched them slowly over time since the show started and it was still so sad.

Izzie and Cristina always had such an underrated friendship. The two of them were such a good team. From performing the unauthorised biopsy and organ harvest together, competing against each other at cardio, Cristina sticking by her when Izzie cut the LVAD, to Izzie telling Cristina first that she had cancer. I think it was more than Izzie knowing Cristina could keep the secret - she trusted her and probably held her dearer than any of the others at that point, even George, even being polar opposites they connected so well. I love the fact that she made Cristina her maid of honour, the two of them were such a good duo

It is so heartbreaking that George was not a bigger part of the wedding. I mean the walking down the aisle thing was sweet but he was supposed to be up there with who is supposed to be his best friend. And then when everyone is looking at the ones they love, he has no one to look at because the person he loves just got married to alex. As sad as this scene is (and yes I always tear up when watching it). I do laugh when I think of how she turned into a "bridezilla" and pulled the cancer card to get her own way. The scene where Derek goes in to try and tell her to calm it all down and leaves the room saying "morning suit is non-negotiable" and he and Meredith would have to book ballroom lessons was "laugh out loud" funny.

I think it was more than Izzie knowing Cristina could keep the secret - she trusted her and probably held her dearer than any of the others at that point, even George, even being polar opposites they connected so well. I love the fact that she made Cristina her maid of honour, the two of them were such a good duo
Don't forget Cristina first told Izzie she was pregnant too. I agree their friendship was beyond rainbow's and sunshine.

If I remember she was the one pushing him most of them time, telling him she loved him, telling him to tell Callie and chasing him even when he asked for space. It is so heartbreaking that George was not a bigger part of the wedding. I mean the walking down the aisle thing was sweet but he was supposed to be up there with who is supposed to be his best friend. And then when everyone is looking at the ones they love, he has no one to look at because the person he loves just got married to alex. And to make things worse he dies two episodes later when to me it seemed like he had no one left, izzie and George's friendship wasn't the same since he backed off to please Karev. George was a sweetheart who didn't deserve to doe even if it was a hero's death, I guess for once he was THAT GUY.

She was really hurt, in the episode where she cries while helping alex study you can tell how badly he had hurt her, and of course it changed how she felt about him a little, which is why it seemed like alex loved her more when izzie just trusted him less. And yet Izzie still cared, it's like they couldn't stop caring about each other and helped each other through the denny and rebecca pope stuff. A true OTP.

As sad as this scene is (and yes I always tear up when watching it). I do laugh when I think of how she turned into a "bridezilla" and pulled the cancer card to get her own way. The scene where Derek goes in to try and tell her to calm it all down and leaves the room saying "morning suit is non-negotiable" and he and Meredith would have to book ballroom lessons was "laugh out loud" funny.
