This was recorded during one of her concert's "en-encore", a session which IU puts on her casual comfy outfits and take song requests from the fans randomly. And the concerts can sometimes get 4 or 5 hours long. Therefore, she was kinda concerned if it would be too late for her teenage fans to go home to their parents.

The place she was having a concert is a bit far and it would be a problem if the teens missed the last bus. That's why she's worried since the parents must be worried as well. Her concert usually last 4-5 hours due to en-en-encore.

Beautiful, thank you jim, and yes IU is a sweetheart, i like that sense not much solo artists are as sweat as she is. She is also so respected in korea and her voice is not only beautiful but powerful and of course the lyrics in her songs. I highly recommend doing "Why IU is so respected in korea" by popsori for IU, I think its an amazing video.
IU is young but she's one of the most respected Artists in Korea, Every body loves IU or know IU in S.Korea that's why she is also known as Nation's little Sister.... She's immensely talented which is why she is the Queen of Live performances as well do check out

She is talking about that she is worried about keeping parents of the younger fans waiting, who are their to pick up their kids. IU encores are legendary for lasting an 1 or 2. That is why she is worried about continuing to take more song request.
But I am confused. You say this is your time hearing IU and until now you have not heard of her. Yet you have already done a reaction to her song Eight back on Nov. 17th.
While all her songs are good this one seems to be a strange one to be the next one to watch, especially when you are trying to figure out her appeal.
I mean there are mega hit MV's like BBIBBI, Celebrity, Strawberry Moon, Blueming, Coin, Through the Night to name a few.
There are Special Live Clips, Like Love Poem, ZeZe, Dear Name, Above the Time.
There are live Concert clips like Blueming, Hold My Hand, Dear Name, Blackout, Leon.
And then there is the single best way to be introduced to IU's music of the last 10 years with Dingo Music Killer Voice performance where she performs a melody of the songs she wrote and performed duri ng her 20's.
More IU please... I looveeeee her LIVE performances. It's very raw and heartfelt

IU deserves the world. The world is losing out on not knowing her and her music. IU DESERVES THE WORLD.
IUs voice and songs are just wonderful and I think the adversity of her childhood comes out in her very sweet nature.

I'd agree with you that discoverability of non-western music is kind of non existent and really the majority of the west only knows BTS and Blackpink because they get pushed for international promo and their music is kind of crafted to appeal to western audiences. It's actually really hard to expand your horizons if you don't know where to look constantly for new stuff being released.
In the case of IU though, the chances of us ever seeing her promoting in the US is literally like zero. She's said in the past she's content with what she has back home and in Asia in general, which is just fine in my opinion. My end goal is to go to an IU concert one day somewhere in Asia.
I'm glad more people are discovering IU though. Even though she does a wide range of genres, her music is not really made for western audiences, but a lot of her songs have a deep meaning to them when you read the lyrics she writes, especially her ballads.
@Sony0_2 Relax, I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. I am not invalidating their work in any way nor any group for that matter, seeing that I've been a fan of BTS since they came to LA in 2014 and kpop in general since the 2000s. I have seen BTS live on numerous occasions and they put in work to make great shows and music.
I was more saying that their music they put out in the current day has a bit more of western sound to it nowadays than compared to say during their debut days, which is fine, since that is what appeals to the west and continues to help them gain more recognition worldwide.

Sir, you might want to check out some amazing top tier Indian vocalists like Arjit Singh, and Shrey Ghoshal. I’m not even Indian,but it really opened my eyes to see how big of a bubble we live in. IU here debuted even before BTS. She literally grew up in the entertainment industry. She is the only solo artist who gives a challenge when it comes to popularity against other idol groups.
