Bob, holy crap I love you but "you just have to believe in science because you have to believe in something" and "things can be open way one day then be the opposite the next" is the exact worst way to go about it. Yes science is open to change, but that change reflects the way that we can best understand the truth about something. It's not that one day we woke up and Pluto stopped being an object in space, but what we underdtand and define planets as changed so that Pluto no longer counts. Changes in science is like aligning a telescope or tuning and instrument, you slowly get closer and closer
I mean, he did fine. I don’t think anyone who are actual fans of Bob/Mark/Wade are anti-science. Maybe some small percentage of actual fans is younger or is currently growing up with antivax parents, but I would say that’s the minority by far. Saying “You have (or need) to believe in science” isn’t a bad thing. There are actually some really good points you could make with the beginning of that sentence; for example: “You have to believe in science. The reason you’re able to watch us stream and do silly shit on the internet is because of science. The reason why you didn’t die of Polio before the age of 10 is because of science. This is just something that we need to have some faith in.” And I wouldn’t have anything against statements like that. If the person has a large amount of knowledge on the subject or is an expert in the subject, then sure. Talk about why you have to believe in science at least in some way in order to function in every day life, talk about the science behind the mRNA vaccines, etc. But if you don’t have the deeper knowledge, you don’t have to try and speak perfectly to get the idea across. There’s a big difference between science education, which takes years and hard work, vs science communication, which can be done by anyone with some intelligently and ethically done research. So I think Bob’s statement was fine. It was humor with an air of science communication.
his wife is a scientist (i think neuroscience? i might be misremembering) he knows how it actually works. what he said was a perfectly fine simple way of saying that people need to trust repeated scientific findings because science is only getting better.
I disagree that lactose intolerance is an evolution thing, lactose intolerance took off when milk started being ultra pasteurized, pasteurization kills all bacteria including all of the good kind, and renders the milk as a flavorless liquid that is then pumped with chemicals for refrigerated storage and then once more pumped with additives for flavoring. What you are intolerant too is not the milk, its the chemicals
the most accepted theory on humans' ability to drink milk is that humans used to not be able to digest lactose at all after being weaned. Mammals are typically lactose intolerant once they stop drinking breast milk. However, some populations of humans, mostly in Europe, evolved to keep producing the enzyme lactase that allows us to break down lactose after infancy. This was advantageous from an evolutionary perspective because it gave humans a new source of nutrition. You can actually listen to an episode of Nature podcast about it! It's very interesting, I highly recommend it!
If you guys are all about accurate information what are the numbers on children getting covid? If an individual decides a vax is not right for them that is not the same as "anti-Vax"
This whole conversation actually made me lose some respect for them... them saying do the research when they clearly didn't themselves...just sucks seeing people be like that and look at other people who have valid reason for skepticism as crazy and just delete them from the conversation..it's not being anti vax..it's being cautious to trust everything the government and their scientists and doctors say without scrutiny...they've been caught before doing things we shouldn't be ok with to the people..why do some people still think they're always looking out for our best interest 😔
covid was at least at one point the 8th most common cause of death in children (plus the possibility of king covid and unknown potential issues that having covid may cause later in life) and 3rd leading cause of death in the general population. they never said anything about simply deciding that the vax isn’t for you, in fact they showed sympathy with those who have reasons for not believing it. they said that you have to, at some point, listen to the science and make a decision instead of relying on misinformation and pop remedies because that gets people killed. use your brain.
@@dimetryp369they have the right to not want misinformation spread in their chat. and again, they showed sympathy for those who have experienced medical abuse.

This is great man
when did wade tell the internet for the first time about hating mexican food
TBH this is one of my favorite 3 Peens streams... Such a riveting discussion.
Thanks for putting these all together.
Doctor who does some great stuff about transhumanism and evolution! Especially about humans. The 8th doctor has a whole arc with a villain about it
I love that the boys had a good talk about Covid and didn’t take shit over it from their chats 💜
For future self this one has Wades semi-experience

Sorry but Mark is just stunning. 🔥
My daughter doesn’t like tacos either 😂, so I can relate to Wade lol
