Roland sounds fine but, the reason Curt seems to struggle and be out of breath is that for some reason, he now stretches out some of the words way too long when he sings them. Listen to the original version and early live recordings of this song and he doesn't run out of breath cause he sings the words normally without stretching them out. It gives his lungs time to catch a breath before the next line. Here and in many other live _'Pale Shelter'_ videos in recent years, he stretches out the words and seems to gasp for air which sounds as if he's struggling. I don't understand the reason why he does this now...
@@hardlines4 There's still good music being made today in the same genres that Tears For Fears have been placed in or associated with over the past decades like Post Punk, Goth, New Wave, Synth, Darkwave, Shoegaze, Coldwave etc. etc.. Lots of great new bands keeping music styles like this alive. Problem is, if you're expecting to hear that material on mainstream radio? You're *_NEVER_* gonna hear it. Don't expect the modern mainstream music industry to give you things like that. You gotta get out there and look for it yourself...
Such a magnificent duo , they're fabulous library of music allows for a great set list with Curt shining as lead vocalist , then just as quickly matched as Roland takes his turn on lead !
