While I have some really fond memories from this whole season it is one of the weaker esc years when it comes to the amount of quality and diversity of the songs.
It’s nowhere near the weakness of a year like 2011, 2001 or 2008 but definitely bottom 10.
I think the main problem is that it’s flooded with ballads, I normally love myself some ballads but when half of the songs are ballads it gets repetitive

NQs like Ireland and San Marino gave a lot of flavour to the contest that year and I was gutted to hear they didn't make it to the final. Then my hope for a good result for France got crushed. Happy for Armenia after the contest, UK and Ukraine during the contest and the best decision that year was to let Estonia finish the final
