    The great thing, is all these places you can go back to over the year and do more. Your only scratching the surface. (Which again: is Great).
    The food and beer; love your reactions of joy.

      Oh yeah you said it man, our Airbnb host in Rotorua was so nice and told us like 10 different to explore and all we did was the tree walk because it was raining and we were a little exhausted haha so it feels like we missed out on a lot! As always, I appreciate your comment, Paul!

      @@donovankelly12 yes come back there's heaps to explore. Summer time is probably best time though. If you like wine definitely try the wine tours, I'm not a fan of wine though haha. There's a art deco tour learn about Napier's history especially the 1931 earth quake that demolished the city. Usually Napier is one of the sunniest places in NZ but recently we have been having the worst weather.

    originally from Napier I suggest if get chance to visit in February during the Art deco weekend time (loads people dress in the styles of the art deco days there also few to lots of vintage cars, should give that old Chicago feel well and truly). Normally mid Feb. It also means summer is full on and mostly great nice days around that time.

    You definitely only scratched the surface in Wellington. There is so much to see and do there and up the Kapiti Coast and the Hutt Valley.
    Around the Kapiti Coast off the top of my head there is the Paekākāriki Escarpment Track (its a fairly tough walk, it takes 3-4hrs, but once you get above the railway the views are incredible).
    At either end of said track there are the picturesque seaside towns of Paekākāriki and Pukerua Bay.
    And for a bite to eat there is Plimmerton Fish Supply in Plimmerton. Grab yourselves some crumbed fish and beer battered chips (they are SO good) and take them a short walk down the road to the waterfront. On a fine day it is yet another picturesque spot.

    • @donovankelly12
      @donovankelly12  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@donovankelly12 The bear battered chips may not be up to your expectations, but personally I think they're really nice.

    Wellington gets ragged on from a lot of kiwis, mostly because of the weather. But thats all part of its character, and when the weathers right? (which happens far more frequently than the rest of NZ likes to believe) Its an absolutely stunning city. its a bit like that italian sports car that always breaks down, but is just absolutely epic when its working - part of its charm is waiting for that moment its on point.

    Napier, Wellington and parts of Auckland are my favourite places here. I used to live in Napier and live only a short drive away from it now and I lived in Auckland a couple years ago for uni. I live in Palmy now for uni and it's just okay. I also visited Welly for the first time earlier this year (aside from a school trip ages ago) and absolutely loved it, I'd love to live there one day if I don't move to Australia. Other than that, I haven't seen much else of my country. It is pretty but don't let that fool you, the actual LIVING part is very, very hard and not nearly as publicly peaceful as you might have heard - especially over time. There is a reason why the su*cide stats are so high and why so many of us have considered it and Tall Poppy Syndrome, violence (towards families, public and businesses) and bullying contributes massively to that.
