Ug, you caught me when you said not to buy Dollar Tree tools! Most of them are amazing! I'm a handywoman/landscaper at my house and the tool section at Dollar Tree is my jam! Most of the painting supplies are great. The wire, screwdrivers, hex tools, hammers, and levels are awesome. And they now carry rubber palm gloves that are usually 6-20$ elsewhere and are made so much better at the Dollar Tree. I just cut down trees and limbs in my back yard and didn't have any wear on them. The zip ties are great. The wire strppers are the one thing I found that don't work very well. But the tool section is AMAZING!

Paint supplies are definitely worthwhile because you can just throw them out when you're done rather than having to take the time to clean them.

I love love love to get helium balloons at the dollar tree I can get a whole bunch of five balloons for the price I would pay for one balloon at a florist or even a grocery store! They even have some really cute ones and even some with characters for kids! I would love to see another one of these videos

Some of their tools aren't bad I have some I've had for years and they get used a lot . and the bungee cords are great! we've bought a couple different packs (multi sized) and we use them a lot and aren't easy on them we've had them for about 4 years now and they're still holding up.
Kelli Dowdell - Totally agree. Especially tools that are not used often. I have a rubber mallet and screw driver from DT that are amazing. I probably would not purchase a saw though! I think it is difficult to condemn an entire section of a store. I love the multi-use blades (e.g., box openers). You get 3 for a $1.00! I also purchase the blue tarps and plastic drop covers. Come to think of it, I buy a lot from the "tool" section! ❤️🔧❤️🔨
me too I forgot we've bought the zip ties from there too a few times sometimes I got one or two in the bag that just didn't work right but I wasn't using them for anything major to begin with so it wasn't a huge deal. my main use for zip ties is to keep unused doors closed on my birds cages for the birds that I have who are Houdini's I use old broken dog leash latches or tiny little pad locks (just push them shut never actually lock them) on the doors I get into daily but I don't want to use up all my latches/locks on the other doors that aren't used so I use DT zip ties
I like the plastic tackle type box in the tool aisle, I have several and store my earrings in them.
We bought a 3" paint brush at Dollar Tree to paint our 12x10 deck, railing, and steps and sides. My husband painted all of that and the brush was still in good shape. He told me to buy a few in different sizes when I returned for whenever we needed one. A similar looking brush in a quality paint store was $14.00. I'm sure there was something better about it and maybe for painting walls or trim, the more expensive may have done a better job but for an outside deck, the $1.00 brush did a fantastic job and cleaned up well.

I always buy puzzles at the dollar store! You can get 600 piece sets and they are great quality!
Julia K My experience with DT puzzles has been very inconsistent. Some of the PuzzleBug puzzles won't stay together or sometimes the pieces are bent. But some of the puzzles are great and are in perfect condition.
Yeah, the normal ones are great. I bought some 3-D puzzle or somethin and they were hard to put together
Watch the party supplies like the plates and towels i have seen big varieties and more for 97 scents at Walmart
Actually the Panasonic batteries are amazing.I bought some for my tv control a year ago and we use the control a lot in my house, the batteries haven't died yet.
I also like to get my 9 volts here since I only use them in my bathroom scale. I only need one (not a big Costco pack), so picking that up at Dollar Tree is great. The battery does last a long time too. I get our other batteries elsewhere.

Actually, did my own little test comparing DT batteries and the name brand... for only 2 weeks difference DT is still a much better deal!
I've bought the round "button" batteries there (not sure exactly what they are called) and they work great in anything I've put them in.
Tv controller's don't use much power from the battery and are made to not waste the battery fast
ALWAYS check Wal-Mart for party supplies first! I stocked up for my son's wedding on plates/napkins/cups/silverware/ etc at the $1 store, only to get to Wal-Mart and find the same colors in larger packages for 87 & 97 cents. Do your homework before you run out of time to return things.

Alta Sargent my sister got one and it worked really well for about a year before the head came off, which could've been fixed with glue, but we were on vacation so we just got a new one, (she took it in the shower a lot too that's why it broke)

The $1 solar calculators seem like a great deal.
I heard from a TH-cam review they were cheaply made and break fast.
ShureiSetsuko I don't agree. Maybe it depends on which calculator you get but I've had the same calculator for 2 years for school and keep it in my backpack and I break things easily in there.

Yes, and also some dollar trees have a frozen section where ice cream and frozen meals etc are only 1 dollar :)
Crazea be sure to check the ingredients bc loads of the products have really weird ingredients lists such as shredded cheese that doesn't have dairy
My dollar tree has blue bunny ice cream so that's where we buy it sometimes

I really do like the batteries
ANY BLUE windshield washer fluid WILL FREEZE in colder climates! The trick that I figured out while in High School was to add 1 container of rubbing alcohol to each resivor of windshield wiper fluid fill! So go ahead & buy the Blue fluid at the Dollar Tree & pick up several bottles of CLEAR rubbing alcohol!!! I grew up in Michigan & this worked wonderful for me!! Unless you have a coupon or the blue fluid is on sale elsewhere, it's only $1.00 at DT & the rubbing alcohol is usually 2/$1.00!! Any OTHER COLOR wiper fluid will already have an antifreeze additive in it and it's usually over $3 to purchase!!!
The fluid would also be fine for summer months, but most people don't think to change their WW fluid for the winter.

I found CR2032 batteries for my flameless tea lights at my local Dollar Tree and they work great. I also found some AA batteries for a wreath I made. They work well. But I guess your mileage will vary with the batteries.
LOVEIsDasani so agree! batteries have expiration dates. key is to pay attention to them. my local fire department said dollar store vs brand name don't mean much when costly Duracell or energizer can sit on the shelf for 3 years and get old and dollar store is new and purchased often so they last just as long or longer. he said most failed alarmsnin homes had brand named batteries because people are conditioned to think they Always will last longer just because they are brand named.... yes they could, but check the dates! be safe.
Yes! I like the buy/don't buy videos - do them everywhere. not just the dollar store. I just blew a ton of money on fidget spinners and had no idea I could get them for a buck!
Quick tip for people scrolling the comments! After school starts at Wal-Mart they have school supplies as low as 5 cents! You can stock up for the next school year!

Puzzles, hair ties, and their storage bins are definitely a must! Especially hair ties because they never ever break and if you lose them as easily as I do spending a dollar for 25ish of them instead of 2-4 dollars is way better.

Thank you! I agree with a previous comment that some of the tools are an exceptional value, such as tape measure, utility knives, sanding stone, hammer and screw drivers. However, do not buy the sponge paint brushes. Reading glasses are a great deal as well, coming in many strengths and styles. My all time favorite DT purchases are the porcelain dinnerware that is convincing knockoff of a Martha Stuart design... (white with raised dots along the rim). I bought 20 dinner 18 plates, salad plates, and 8 mugs years ago and not one has chipped. They appear on the shelves seasonally, coming in different colors. I also like me the bar ware and have bought pretty and substantial tumblers and wine glasses. More DT must haves: broom, magic eraser, cleaning wands, buckets, storage containers, permanent markers and teaching supplies. A few other things not to buy at the DS (based on quality, not price): scotch tape, packing tape, safety pins, scissors, magnets, mechanical pencils, colored index cards, and many of the "stainless" kitchen utensils, such as spatulas, kitchen knives, serving spoons, etc. (The rubber/ plastic utensils are a safer purchase, especially the white and red bowl scraper which is a very handy item... ) I've read that the light bulbs are junky, but I tend to disagree. I think that, like the batteries, light bulbs could be a hit or miss type thing. Thank you again!

I'm sooo happy you said pregnancy tests!! I found out a week earlier with the dollar tree test than I did the store brand test that I was pregnant with my second child!! We tried for a year before getting pregnant with our second child so it was so much cheaper to buy tests from DT
I remember when we went to dollar tree to get pregnancy tests we got like 10 and since we were so sad that she wasn't pregnant (And she was) so when my brother peed on one it said that he was pregnant we laughed so hard and then we went to Walgreens to get another pregnancy 🤰🏽 test she was pregnant and she is pregnant with a Girl!! I like the betty Crocker brand line of kitchen products. Also these round/cylinder type storage containers with either red, blue or green screw on lids, very sturdy.
Walmart carries those same type of pregnancy tests for 88c
I used to get mine at Walmart too but they stopped carrying them at all of the Walmarts near me. Luckily the dollar store still had them!

YES, please do another one. I buy wrinkle releaser at DT and it works great. Washi tape is a good deal there, especially the thin multi-packs.
Am I the only one who would never buy anything at dollar stores that touches food/drinks like cutlery, grilling tools, containers, cups, dishes and especially disposable/plastic items, or off-brand food (pets and human).

I always buy helium balloons there!! I also love their storage containers in fun colors and all different sizes and I bought a bunch to organize my pantry!! They also sometimes have some good kitchen supplies that I get there like measuring cups and strainers.

I bought one of the barrette packs at the Dollar Tree. I painted the tops of them with nail polish to make them sparkly or just add some fun colors to them. I bought them so if I wanted a cute accessory for my daughters hair and she's going to a place where it might get lost... I wouldn't be too upset about it.
