  • Following Google can sometimes get you in an odd situation, especially when it shows a road as a secondary road, which is truly little more than a dirt track. My trusty red steel steed got me as high as I was prepared to go before Google told me to turn down a two track lane which had me breathless just looking at it, and without a high base four-wheel drive I was not prepared to put my trusty little Renault Clio through the ordeal. Sense prevailed and I managed to turn around and go back down. But the view from the spine of the caldera was fantastic! Well worth hiking One of the many trails that shows around the lake, or renting a kayak to go out on the lake. There was one very enthusiastic biker who had managed the dusty track right up the side of the caldera and all I could do was look on in admiration and exhaustion just at the thought of it. Best of all, when at the top of the track I was able to make a video call on WhatsApp, and loop in family to show where I was. So grateful to have a great data provider wherever I travel! It gives me a great sense of security in case something goes wrong and I need help.
