Shawmut was part of the Gadsden purchase, bought for the use by Central Pacific Railroad to help connect California to Texas. Southern Pacific purchased the rail company in 1885, opening it corporate office on 1 market street in the Embarcadero community of San Francisco. When Union Pacific acquired SP, Southern Pacific sold everything but the communication part and it became SPrint, the mobile telephone company.

@@RiverLineProductions It reminded me of when I took the Amtrak Sunset Limited back in 2018 and we traveled through the countryside.

Enjoy these videos. There was another you shot st in Montana, near Whitefish that I particularly enjoyed. I think it's ACME Videography that I watch who does drone shooting of trains, mostly in the Southwest. I live in Florida and planning a road trip this October to AZ, NM, TX...Any tips sir?

Btw, even though it's spelled "Gila"; it's pronounced "HEE-la"

Snow birds lol. And the speed limit on highball portions of track on the low line is 65MPH max.

And big trains run on that portion of the line, and I call them Gila monsters.

Intermodal trains are boring, I prefer mixed trains.
