She was the first female leader in Europe and proved that you can break into another sex dominated profession without having to shake your ass. Rest in Peace, Britain's Iron Lady.

bluedog15 No, I think Johns comments relate to your outburst about someone you have never even met, yet still feel as though you can be abusive about. Yours is the socialist way, be abusive about people (because it's fashionable to anarchistic) but the second people are abusive back to start whinging. You should be ashamed of yourself. Although I am from the USA I respect, honor and appreciate the endeavors of this lady along with my then seated President Ronald Regan and Mr Gorbachev. Tenacity, and homeland first is this woman who vowed to her country through her life and into eternity. We do not have to always look for the speck in another's eye.

Probably apart from Churchill, our most assiduous PM. I remember at 0615 one morning, she interrupted Radio 4 to put them straight... Said what she thought and did what she had promised, not simpering what people wanted to hear. Most unusual.
I don't understand all the hatred towards her. Oh well, our Ronald Reagan was also reviled by the other side of the aisle (& Isle ?). May they both rest in peace.
Stevie Baxter I don't know for sure. It is often the fate of famous British politicians to fall out of favor. Both Sir Winston Churchill and Sir Arthur Wellesley met similar political fates.
I don't agree with her on everything she did but one thing, the liberation of the Falkland Islands is alongside d day, Dunkirk and Trafalgar as one of the proudest days in British history 🏴🇬🇧
Margaret Thatcher may not have been loved by all, but she was respected and even admired by some. I believe she should have had much more grand funeral than this...more like Winston Churchill. She wasn't nick-name THE IRON LADY for naught! I have always admired her even here in the United States: there will never be another like her! Thanks!
The guy with the beard at 2:50 was singing this hymn right, whether you loved Mrs Thatcher or hated her, you cannot say things about her that are unpleasent, i happened not to agree with her policies. But i understand she is somebodies mother, and if anyone was to say things half as unpleasent as some of the things that i have seen about the late lady thatcher, i would be appauled. Lets hope she is resting in peice for the family she raised and the patriotic soul she had. We have all done things that we regret, but we cannot let that dwell on a future where we are no longer around. A beautiful hymn that was sung for one of britains pioneering female politicians. I remember Maggie when I was growing up (her second election victory was on my 13th birthday) and she left No 10 when I reached 20. Some of her policies weren't to my liking but she stood up for her principles and was firm with world leaders during her tenure.
2. .I heard my country calling, away across the sea, Across the waste of waters, she calls and calls to me. I wish our Serivcemen and Service women the highest standards of care too, for no greater love have any person but to give their life that others might live, For God too gave his only begotten son,
Truly glorious. I’m sorry I’m gonna miss my funeral now, I want people to sing this for me (btw I have held this opinion long before seeing this video) I vow to thee my Ulster
I never liked Thatcher either , her politics were self centred ,divisive and only benefited the rich toffs.Thatcher herself was never from an upper class background her dad was the local green grocer. But I like many would never be disrespectful to someone at a funeral. To me that is poor form indeed
I'm a Brit . ...And i love OUR country . It's clear she loved it also ...same a Churchill did. Doe's our government "TODAY" love our country as much as i do...or as much as they did ? I think everything went bad when Blair got in ..and its getting worse !!! What do you people think ? ...Or is it just me ?
Even the biggest opponent of Thatcher should at least get a slight tingle down their spine watching this. No deceased PM will ever get this kind of treatment again. Imagine what the reaction will be like when Brown or Cameron die, people will barely give a toss. A beautiful hymn, very appropriate.
She was voted into power by democratic election. She worked hard. It is so easy to criticise in retrospect. When one considers the people of countries who have no power at all in the choice of leader and where atrocities are commonplace, we didn't have it so bad. May she rest in peace.
She is the best political leader since Sir Winston Churchill. She courageously pulled UK out of the illusions of a socialist Britain after the war, and paved the way for a renewed nation with optimism.
Could I ask, who is the man next to John Bercow, the Speaker, at 2:55 into the video. What a powerful, fitting hymn tribute. I watched the funeral and I thought it was very apt. Would have loved to have lined the path, but alas Northumberland is a long way to travel when I have work. A great tribute to a person I truly admire and am inspired by. Only saddened I could not have thanked her by attending the pathway. I feel I owe her much, especially getting a place at medical school. Thank you!
Split the us right down the middle we went from a country that made things to one that sells things Totally destroyed the engineering base of the West Midlands .When asked what are we going to do with the miners once all of the mines have shut see said give them benefit and cast whole generations to the dust bin . Her final act was the single market
I struggle with the number of them who don't know the words. I'm a pro Europe, socialist atheist but I'm not looking at the bloody hymn sheet for this. (should be the national anthem, if we have to have one)
RIP >> Ironlady Still remember the day she died. People were celebrating her death. So disrespectful of them... Even remember the night she won her 1st term
Honestly, if you don't have people who dislike you, especially in such a position, you're not doing it right. In the end Thatcher was successful and a stunning person, no matter what people say or so now.
Where you dislike her or like her there is something we can agree on: she loved her country. Unlike the politicians we have today that don't have the backbone to do anything worthwhile, she did.
She was the first female leader in Europe and proved that you can break into another sex dominated profession without having to shake your ass.

Truly glorious. I’m sorry I’m gonna miss my funeral now, I want people to sing this for me (btw I have held this opinion long before seeing this video) I vow to thee my Ulster
Great Friends and great allies God Bless
God bless her!
Salute! May her soul rest in peace in heaven!
Love her
Heres one Brit who appreciates it, and is proud to be an ally of the USA
At around 2:47 we have Lord Rogers and Speaker Bercow; where is the Lord Speaker?
It’s Baroness D’Souza, and she’s stood right next to Bercow.
To know that Sir Winston is looking down on you Iron Lady. He himself who said goodbye with I vow to Thee. Rest in peace Oh Great lady, rest in peace.
I feel thatcher was like the batman, she was not the PM the country wanted, but was the PM the country needed.
She will answer for her sins like us all.Judge not, less ye be judged.
... just like me and you, eh?
I've never liked Thatcher but some of the stories I heard when she died just made me feel disgusted at some people
I never liked Thatcher either , her politics were self centred ,divisive and only benefited the rich toffs.Thatcher herself was never from an upper class background her dad was the local green grocer. But I like many would never be disrespectful to someone at a funeral. To me that is poor form indeed
0:59 R.I.P. Prince Phillip
I was lining the streets as her procession took place, seeing her coffin go by in the carriage brought a tear to my eye.
Here's one American who is proud to be allied with Great Britain.
i know she wasnt the most popular PM we've had... but you should never boo someone at her funeral... thats just disrespectful
who booed were YOU there ? I doubt it she was the Iron Lady we could use a few like her now.
I'm a Brit .
...And i love OUR country .
It's clear she loved it also ...same a Churchill did.
Doe's our government "TODAY" love our country as much as i do...or as much as they did ?
I think everything went bad when Blair got in ..and its getting worse !!!
What do you people think ?
...Or is it just me ?
still miss you maggie [*]
From a irish man rest in peace my lady.
Even the biggest opponent of Thatcher should at least get a slight tingle down their spine watching this. No deceased PM will ever get this kind of treatment again. Imagine what the reaction will be like when Brown or Cameron die, people will barely give a toss. A beautiful hymn, very appropriate.
she was true leadership and intelligence. She ranks with Churcill. MHO
She was voted into power by democratic election. She worked hard. It is so easy to criticise in retrospect. When one considers the people of countries who have no power at all in the choice of leader and where atrocities are commonplace, we didn't have it so bad. May she rest in peace.
Thatcher will be hated by those who lost their livelihood until the day the world ends.
God we need her back now to sort this charade out.Bless her.
The sunset of the greatest era of the human history.
The Iron Lady will remain in our hearts and in our memories always and forever
She is the best political leader since Sir Winston Churchill. She courageously pulled UK out of the illusions of a socialist Britain after the war, and paved the way for a renewed nation with optimism.
Extremely patriotic people. God save the Queen!
The Great Lady.
God bless England....
You're greatly missed Maggie
wish we had someone like her today as we are being over run by commies and mental morons
she would have squashed them but good.
by the rich,,, yes
ANOTHER FANTASTIC HYMN
It's in the key of Bb major, not C. The original version is in Eb major.
Thank you!
RIP Baroness. The shame here is seeing that none of the great and the good knew the song.
Split the us right down the middle we went from a country that made things to one that sells things Totally destroyed the engineering base of the West Midlands .When asked what are we going to do with the miners once all of the mines have shut see said give them benefit and cast whole generations to the dust bin . Her final act was the single market
The same with the North East of England. She destroyed whole communities. I doubt many people from my area would have mourned her passing.
Good Riddance
I struggle with the number of them who don't know the words. I'm a pro Europe, socialist atheist but I'm not looking at the bloody hymn sheet for this.
(should be the national anthem, if we have to have one)
God bless Margaret Hilda Roberts Thatcher, among the greatest of them all.
RIP >> Ironlady
Still remember the day she died. People were celebrating her death. So disrespectful of them...
Even remember the night she won her 1st term
Honestly, if you don't have people who dislike you, especially in such a position, you're not doing it right. In the end Thatcher was successful and a stunning person, no matter what people say or so now.
