People shouldn't really complain about the RF mount because a) all new Canon lenses, and eventually third party ones, will be RF b) you can now adapt it to basically any other lens mount other than other mirrorless mounts, which is surely a massive advantage, especially on a tiny camera like this.
The main thing I don’t like is the fact that this specific RF lens mount has no locking mechanism so it worries me a bit with heavier lenses.
@@TheObsessiveDP I see I see, I suppose reds thinking is "crash cam" but I'm sure they new people would use it for an a cam too. Even the Canon c70 has a screw in adapter so I can see what you mean!
I have seen bad footage and great footage of the komodo. some helium owners say, that the image is pretty much the same. I wanna try this camera so bad :D
why would you say its not as "polished" as the DSMC2 series?
I’m not gonna lie. The footage is pretty dang great. Amazing for the price point actually...but the image feels a couple steps towards towards a DSLR camera. - Lower bit rate, less depth/quality of image. That’s just how I feel currently! Still waiting to use it in a studio environment to see exactly how it stacks up.
@@TheObsessiveDP I see. I personally own a epic x. I think it would be an upgrade. What would you say about the native Sensor noise?
I think in some ways yes it would be an upgrade although you would be losing out on higher frame rates and hdrx. The upside would be having a “newer” body able to buy updated accessories, better upgrade path, etc. I’ve found the accessories on this guy (especially the ones made by tilta) to be incredibly affordable. Although I haven’t used the epic x in a long time, I don’t think the sensor noise would be much different. I think the noise was pretty apparent in this video next to the a7s (which has incredible low noise iso). The Komodo here was also on a slower lens in a lower light scenario.

Hq - 2,4 gbps
Mq - 1,6 gbps
Lq - 948 mbps
In comparison the dragon x in 6k 6:1 has 973 mbps
Helium in 8k with 6:1 has 1.8 gbps
Lol it doesn't have the dynamic range or color? My friend and I tested his Raven and My Komodo and he thought my Komodo footage was his.
I believe that! Raven is older tech so I could see it matching up super well with Komodo!
Using a shit cheap lens : "as you can see the image quality is not quite there"
This is honestly a fair assessment. The reason I used that lens was to test autofocus - obviously cinema glass doesn’t have internal motors. I should try it out with cinema glass to provide a more accurate comparison.
I think it might be fare to say, get that camera still, light the room, focus, then give us some fair footage. Clearly you just threw it up there. Hope to see new footage from you. Cheers.

bro if your dsmc2 looks as bad as you said , just get a new dsmc2 body ! komodo is complementary not a remplace for dsmc2
