Glad it works for you. Looks like you have a "broody" hen which is great if you are planning on raising your own chickens. Keep her in and keep her safe.
We are glad too! She hasn’t jumped over since clipping both wings! Also glad that she is broody! We hope to hatch out our own chickens! Thanks for watching as always Nancy, we appreciate you!
I really liked how you curved the fencing over at the top! I'm going to try this on my run. I had to cut the chicken wire "roof" off my run last spring because we got sooooo much snow last winter here in Minnesota. I've been trying all summer to keep the birds in and to no avail, I've failed 😂 I'm going to try the curved fencing at the top and clip wings, hopefully this helps!
Wait to see when they turn 18….i thought i was gonna lose it when my first turn 18 i feel so sad for some reason but then I remember I wanted them to grow out of my house 🤣🤣🤣
How did introducing the new flock go with the older hens? I have 7 hens and 1 rooster want to get another 6 or so hens eventually but wanted to know how it went for you? Thanks in advanced
You guys are awesome, love your videos. I have 3 acres in Oakland County (poultry only) best wishes to you guys! Btw, what part of Michigan are you from? (No need for specifics) just curious and nice to have someone close into the same things!
I stand corrected. For a video entititled as it were, one would think a bit more than 5 seconds would explain clipping wings. For instance, how far up the wings to clip until hitting a danger zone, if any? It always helps to know your subject matter before making doing advice or a report. If you wanted to show off your land and kid, you did a great job! However we that sat through 12 minutes, barely learned anything other than we will never get those 12 minutes back. Touche.
@@AcresOfAdventure My miniature rooster is still able to jump up high even with both wings clip But we have him in Is a very large cage. I'm still working on getting 2 regular size chickens.
I have a 4, 6, and 8 year old. I feel you on the children. 😂 6:08
Did sunny get out again ?

I’m sorry so either I missed it over screaming toddlers or it wasn’t said but what’s the verdict on cutting both? Did it work to stop the jumping?
It stopped our chicken👍🏻
Can i put hens that are 6/7 mo older??
Yes
Did not know you liked chicken wings
I have a escape artist, we call her Alcatraz
lol. We have one too. We named her Houdini.
what happens if you clip the wrong set? 😢
Not sure just gotta be careful
So cutting one side is best not both sides 👍👍👍👍????
A lot of people say one side is better, it didn’t work for us though
At which point in the video do you show how to clip the wings?
How about you watch the video

@@59catsPeggysue he did the clipping in the first short bit of the video before he started doing the tour of his yard.
Yes you have to do both lol
I don’t know why I thought just one would work….no jumping over since though!! Thanks for watching Renee!

Only clip one side it keeps them of balance so they cant fly
We might try that this time, its about time to do it again!
Are they eating their eggs or do you have evidence of rats.
Did sunny get out again?
