I love hearing you and Jonah bounce ideas off each other, dig through bits and bobs around the workshop and come up with a solution to problems. Great teamwork.
Just a tip on your mobile lamb creep shelter. You got a cable on the ends I am wondering If you add another cable from the midle wheel that will distribute the balance. Sorry for my poor english. I hope you got it
On seed collecting. The Epic Gardener guy demonstrated how he uses a a case that is normally used for storing photographs to store his seeds. I bought two and it makes it so much easier. I tried the binder method and was more cumbersome for me. These suitcases time carrying cases hold thirty-two plastic photo cases that work with all sizes of seed packets. Even Baker Creek larger envelops. Think of a case similar to those rental VHS tapes came in-- but more doable for seeds. Take a look. Joy Giles
Good thoughts, because driving Sally in there twice a day will compact the pasture. And solid tires are a solid idea ;) but I'm afraid they'll be too heavy.
Ideas on how to re-design your wrestling ring. 1. You are getting lots of friction going in one direction change those parts that drag. 1.a. Remove the lower 5 inches 1.b. Lengthen your wheel struts [also 2] 1.c. Put the lower 5 inches on 2 way hanging hinge 2. A jogger style lift would be great for you (where you can temporarily increase the height of the ring when you need it but it naturally rests flush with ground) 3. Have the luchadores assist with the moving (Not sure if that's a good idea)
Your chickens might still try to sit in the mineral feeder. Might need something to block them. They do the silliest things sometimes. Especially if they can have a space all they're own. Hope you can find a way to keep them out of it.
You could make a hanging system with just wood and screws. If you take a 1by 3 or something. And cut it diagonaly (as in backside 1 inch high front side 2 inch high) Then scre one part on what ever you try to hang. The other part on where you want to hang it. (Shorter side to what ever you screw it on) You then can hang anything on it. You just need the same angle cut. And it just cost you some screws you would need anyway. And some wood you propably have laying around already. And if you always use a 45 degree angle cut. Then you can always interchange it with other stuff.
How do yall make an income on the homestead? Is it strictly through raising and selling the animals? Or do yall have other jobs to finance the homestead? I eventually want my own. Just doing my research to have the best chance at success. Love the channel keep it up.
Well, you don't want it dry. I didn't meant it like that. You want it wet to a certain extent. That's why it's good to be covered. You don't want it too dry or too wet. If you cover it, that helps keep it the right level of dampness.
And then maybe some duct tape. And maybe if we had three pieces of bacon bible gum.... That aside, with the sheep fence, perhaps if you unscrewed the tires and put some washers(7 or 8 per bolt) in between the bracket and the wheel, you could buy yourself an inch height for the cost of a bunch of washers.
Have you guys ever had Speckled Sussex Chickens? If you have them in a small container that you can make friends with them in, give them treats and such, they turn into the sweetest girls, really affectionate. I bet Lilly would love to have a couple in her hen group.

2 thoughts on moving the luchadores: 1) Why not use solid tires or 2) Use Sally to pull.

What age would you introduce kelp to chicks?
As early as you like if it makes sense from a management perspective.
I’m not sure I understand why do u add water to the compost when you still want it dry

Hey justin. Does the maggot bucket stink at all??
Absolutely. Probably don't want it in the front yard or near neighbors. Stinks up to 50-100' if your down wind.

Sous-titre en français c'est possible ?
I'm curious what happened to Laurel the dog?

Hello 👋
Hello 👋
Why don’t you put the boy sheep on electric netting too. Would give them more room to run around and eat
Great question. Because if a ram can see/smell a Ewe in heat he will get through/above/under a net.
