I've known a lot of this because my daughter was born with just under 1/2 an immune system. Her
Pediatrician would not refer her to an immunologist, saying that she was the wrong gender for such a thing. She had infections nearly constantly, and it was up to me to keep her alive. At the age of 12 months she finally fit into newborn sizes.
I got her into a University at 13 months of age, after I had spent many hours combing through medical libraries, photocopying much data. She ended up with the top pediatric immunologist in the U.S. He questioned me thoroughly, and I became known as "the mom who kept her baby alive".
So much of what Dr. John says. I know to be right. But I've also learned at lot here also. I didn't know about vitamin D. I had heard of using zinc, but it wasn't given the kind of weight that Dr. John gives it.
Personally, I use his recommendations and it's (so far) the first winter I've been virus free - in over 60 years of living!

He had to be tested before he got on the plane to HK and will be tested two more times during his stay in the hotel. And EACH of those times, he has to have two swabs taken - one nasal and one oral. During this time, he has to measure his temperature twice daily and keep a diary to hand in before leaving. Obviously he has to stay in the hotel room, but the door also starts beeping if keft open and someone comes up to check.

Isnt anyone worried about how fast these vaccines are being made and how easy it could be to have production mistakes??

    • @danballe
      @danballe 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Apparently the technology that most manufacturers are using ( e.g: Pfizer BioNtech ) is a technique called mRNA (check the CDC website for more info), and I think hearing that was quite ingenious, supposedly that should be good to lessen any worries in the production, however. you are correct in mass production there are multiple things that could go wrong. Regarding the Covid vaccine (as well as any other vaccine and/or medication) that is why the have 3 different stages of trials. It IS always good to ask first. after all with medications there are risks, that is why you should ALWAYS consult to a trained physician before taking anything.

Should I comment that? I should comment that.
The EU had prepaid production for the very moment EMA approved the Oxford Astraseneca Vaccine. This will happen in the next days, and there is significantly less vaccine available. The ratio is about 60% less. The anouncement came as utter surprise, there was not the slightest hint that there could be any delay, let alone one of this proportion. The official explanation is, that there are problems with the supply chain in Europe.
Astraseneca CEO Soriot now claims, that the treaty with the EU does not include any numbers or figures, but instead is a "best efford" approach. In opposition to that the treaty with the UK states, that the necessary supply that is produced in Britain is supplied to Britain first. Later, so said Soriot, it is possible to ramp up any supply for other customers like the EU.
If Soriot is right, the EU leadership has failed totally, leading to hundrets of thousand additional deaths in Europe, as the supply issue will slow down the vaccination plan in all European states for 2-4 month - that said, if supply can be ramped up in the European factories, which is obviously unclear. To sign a treaty on a "best-efford"-basis, meaning: we get the rest if others are supplied, is utterly inexcusable.
However, it is possible that Soriot is not playing fair. In December the UK recieved about 4 Mio Doses from European sites to make way for clearing up issues in Britain, as the Irish Times reported. Until one week ago the British vaccine was fueled in Germany, more precisely in Dessau.
There are indications that the supply chains are not totally split, and from a customer side the idea to insist on a special, seggregated chain seems to be very unusual. If Britain would have done that, there is the same risk of one important factory going kaputt, crippling the whole production. It is much safer to rely on a company with fully differentiated chains, as that lowers any risk of bottlenecks.
Also there is no explanation about the prepaid doses that suddenly ceased to exist. Again, this does not fit in any "best efford" plans, as in this case it wouldn´t make any sense to name specific numbers or dates anywhere. In this case the company would announce the numbers that are about to be delivered a few days before. However, even Astraseneca confirms that there was the long-trem- plan to deliver 80 Mio doses in the first quater.
The EU leaderships now claims, that Astraseneca is violating the treaty. We only can know the truth if the paper gets published to the media. Before that, we can´t blame neither Astraseneca or the EU leadership. As this is a problem that decides about who will live and who will die, I´d like to suggest to anyone, including you Dear Dr. Campbell, to be carefull will spreading blame.
I sincerly hope, that this is not a political struggle about the vaccine between the UK and the EU. This would be devastating to everyone, as I wish only the best to all UK citizens. After watching a few Brexiteers-channels on youtube, I am utterly disgusted about the Schadenfreude these guys are showing publicly, as it is their goal to destroy the EU, and a vaccine crisis here would certainly help with this issue. I have never seen anyone in Germany being gleefull about the toll covid-19 took on the British isles, and I will certainly shut up everyone I hear doing so.
Best regards to everyone, and thank you very much for the constant stream of invaluable informations, Dr. Campbell.
    Gero Kron
