Bascially spent 3 hours yesterday trying to call in a ship. Elevators weren't working, then once I got into a lobby where the elevators finally worked for me, I couldn't call in my ship. Now there's a 50% chance I can't even load into the game, cause it's stuck on "your current position in the que is 1". Let alone actually call out a ship... One thing of note was earlier that day, I was in a server with very low pop for a couple hours, and the elevators were working just fine. So the elevator issue may have something to do with the high pop servers. Just a thought.
They have been saying playability has been a priority since 2018. INSANE that they haven't fixed issues since then it's 2025. CIG cancelling free flight was the bare minimum, they really need to walk the walk because their talk is MEANINGLESS
Had a great session yesterday doing some hauling. While I'm not a huge fan of MISC, I do like the design of the Hull A, Prospector and also the Fortune.
4.0.1 has cargo boxes reading their content from the pilot's seat, without needing to scan each one individually, just doing a pulse scan and being close enough. This allows me to forgive CIG of all their misteps in the past year! xD
Congrats on the Guardian! May you fly it in good health. Thank you Bored and supporters for making that happen! I'm hoping CIG will be able to get the game in a playable state soon. I'm itching to do the next phase of those major missions.
One thing I have noticed after the hot fix is that missions with remaining enemy missions counter either does not update or do it really slowly. I had an issue where the last enemy did not have a marker even though the supposed last 5 enemies had markers.
It's been a rough year so far on Star Cit...really hoping they can straighten it out. They said in 2018 that they were going to focus more on gameplay...and we still keep hearing it over and over.
That Green neon paint is the trademark indicator in Contested zones. So a planetary location with that neon green almost indicates a planetside contested zone?!?!
I took the MISC Fortune out yesterday. It was fine. Salvaging isn't really my game play loop. I find it too slow, even with the Vulture. But, I have it for Imperator Test Fly, so I test flew it. I do like the big bubble window on the front.
I bought one to try salvaging but guess what its too slow of a gameplay for me. So I was fighting for my life vs falling asleep 😂 ended up upgrading it to another ship 🤷♂️
It takes me a good hour to actually get going on this game. I typically hit some bug that either doesn't allow me to spool up QT or the hangar door opens, to reveal another closed hangar door that you can't fly through. I hop server, to land in a infinite loading screen - get bored, and log off.
Game runs flawlessly in Pyro for me 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ it's all due to scaling issues and Stanton has way more people than Pyro. If you want to play right now Pyro seems like the best way
The MISC Fortune seems like a great diversifying of the salvage field. Still, I feel like we need a medium salvage ship akin to the MOLE for mining. Having the huge jump between a Vulture/Fortune and a Reclaimer feels jarring, a nice medium step up would be great.
So far for me mission markers and inventory are working about 40% of the time with the only fix being relogging which can take up to 15 minutes. Even odds again that elevators will fail causing further fishing for a working server.
I returned recently and happy to hear they are focusing on playability this year. I feel there is enough in the game to really need to focus on making all game loops stable and not frustrating.
I actually had a really decent run yesterday, with minor bugs! My pulse did blow up whilst standing still but it could have been attacked, not sure, but just as likely to combust with bugs 😂
Been having a great time with 4.0.1. Although with the latest hotfix(2 days ago), I'm longer able to retrieve or store ships in my home hanger. I can go to stations and retrieve and store all my ships.
I am so excited for the Misc Fortune! I will be running the Odyssey and was sad that the Vulture was looking like it would not fit, so the Fortune was what i needed for what I envision my gameplay will look like 1.0 and beyond.
I just started playing this game absolutely addicted to it. Even with the bugs i cannot get enough of the game. Hoping these hotfixes make things a little more stable. I want to bring my friends to play as i mainly play solo right now. But I don't want to to put a recommend it at the moment since I want them to enjoy a stable version of the game since this game is beyond amazing when it works. Love watching your videos learned a lot!
Been a lot more playable the past few days for me which is very rare. I think it was that many people had installed the "Hot fix" version so were on different servers, now that there is only the "Live Version" again I am thinking it is going to be nothing but problems again since many of the issues come from over population (Burden) put onto each Server / Shard.
I have been playing since 2019 and I have always managed to find a work around with certain things. Recently with 4.0.1 I've updated my graphics driver and used Vulken. Since the driver update and the Vulken change I haven't been able to even launch the game and make it to the menu. I haven't tried to work around it either because I am just tired. I love the game and have high hopes and wish nothing but success but I just can't keep worrying or bandaging up any more.
Did see a big before/after with fixes in Live. Tried a bunch of servers and could not get one with working elevators. Did a file check and got an update and had no problem with the elevators after. Still some other bugs though - QD fuel not detected.
I will say it has gotten way better with the hot fix patches but still needs a decent amount of work. I know I finished my priority mission with the frontier fighters and that one was hard because sometimes the enemies wouldn't spawn so it was a pain.
I’ve never understood the decision by CIG to launch a new patch, mission event, sales event and free fly at the same time. I believe it has hurt Star Citizen by having horrible performance problems during these free flys. It’s such a magnificent project. It’s what many of us have begged decades for. CIG needs to iron out these issues before we open to the public again. I suggest instead of free flys, have month long trials that reset every 3 to 6 months. Only allow them to buy ground vehicles in game, but give them a decent do all ship like the cutty black.
Glad to hear your 4.0 experience has not been as bad as what the internet has shown. Will still be waiting for signs of more stability before I jump into pyro for the first time
My experience is very mixed. Getting into the game with friends takes even longer. On even had to repair his char. It was stuck on server, but he couldn’t get in xD And my ship exploded in the hangar, because my landing gear was bugged and the hangar didn’t want me in there anymore. Fun times
I had performance and stability issues with the 3.24. 4.0 had far better performance, but ran into gameplay issues. Most notable was the elevators. My solution for that was to quickly move off-planet to a less populated station. It had served me fairly well, although the prison bug was fairly frustrating. Contracts was the other one, but I was more exploring for fun rather than money so could ignore that portion.
I really hope we get a new hotfix soon I tried to play yesterday 16:30 AEST on the AUS server and it was horrific and utter mess. Elevators not working in any of the stations, barely working planet side. Ship not spawning correct when called and inventory not working. Then when I was able to call a ship the 2 Mercenary missions, I tried I had to abandon due to invulnerable actors.
Sunday I actually had a pretty good run on SC stability and bug-wise, but it was ruined by hackers and griefers. Oof. Also, the one bug I did have was that the game wouldn’t register the last person in Fight for Pyro missions as dead, and the system is so big it keeps sending me on 10-15 minute journeys just to try again
4.0.1 has worked almost bug free for me, though i only was in pyro once, rest of the time i was in stanton. Only bugs i found was fell through the floor coming out of a hanger and got stuck in an elevator, to which i logged out and back on.
Sounds like your issues are basically irl tech support and out of date software issues. Your drive doesn’t work, turn it off and back on, reboot system, turn it off and back on again, bang with hammer. Little too close to life, so definitely a close simulator then! Still looking forward to showing up in the personal hanger, and be better if you could bed log reliably in ship, in your hanger! Best thing would be game stability so glad they are focusing on that.
@@madmechanic7976 yea, not really worried about that. I am more a completionist, so I was just curious if this will go away with the 4.0.2 is coming out.
Despite all the issues with 4.0.1, I actually had some of the best, uninterrupted gameplay I've ever had in SC this weekend. Friday night, nothing worked. But Saturday and Sunday were flawless for me. It was nice, but the uncertainty of what he Server Gods will bestow on any given night is pretty frustrating
im loving the Fortune for the convinience factor, its a lot easier to fill up than the Vulture....although a tad slower on salvaging RMC with only 1 head it still works at a decent enough speed for $/hr tradeoff for me. I think it was a huge missed opportunity to not have those cargo grids on each side not double stack up to 12scu per side...THAT would have been the true name of the Fortune and a nice tradeoff between the Vulture and Fortune....Vulture is faster at salvaging and can fit a lot on its internal cargo grid and 'loose' vs the Fortune which can slavage a lot more and store more on its external cargo grids....but maybe a balance pass later will add that double stacking on the external grids....here's hoping!
The big problems I am seeing are losing the ability to access items in a crate while in in my storage and not being able to enter my hanger at some stations.
Honestly 4.0.1 is starting to work consistently for me, which is nice (even with once daily game breaking bugs that let me know it’s time to go to bed)
I'm in a tough spot with the Heartseeker. It's the model that sold me on the Hornet. I had flown all sorts of fighters and never been a fan of the Hornet series. Then I got the concept sale Scorpius with some gift money. After just over a year of having fun with the Super-Hornet loaner, I learned that the Heartseeker's nose art persisted over the paint. It was Coramor and I upgraded one of my LTI tokens _that day._ I flew the Heartseeker as my main solo fighter from that day on, mostly saving the Scorpius for times when I had a co-pilot. Then the F7A mk2 came out and _that_ became my main fighter. The Heartseeker became my Guardian. If there's an _F7A_ mk2 Heartseeker, it's a safe bet that I'll upgrade. But if it's an _F7C-M_ mk2 Heartseeker... will I give up my A? Something else? New LTI token and burn up a bunch of CCUs?
F7A and F7C-M are two entirely different ship chassis'. The A is the full military variant, the C-M is still a C variant but with an extra seat(as close to proper military spec as possible for civilians to own). The Heartseeker is just a special version of the C-M and has nothing to do with the F7A. The F7A just is, there is no other variant or special edition, it just is what it is and comes with all of the as-of-now not tangible benefits of a proper miilitary variant(the only military class ship currently flyable) but are intended to eventually be modeled in-game. Do not ever melt or remove the F7A, CIG will not return it to you, they stated as such at the end of Overdrive.
Yes, I know. Neither the mk1 nor the mk2 F7As were even hinted at being available to players in the PU originally. The closest we could get was the F7A mk1 body kits to make our mk1 Hornets _look_ like an F7A mk1, of the F7C-M's which were the closest we could get to the _performance._ So the original Heartseeker, being special edition of the F7C-M mk1 with a custom skin and custom loadout, was never considered in terms of "F7C-M vs F7A". Now, however, we have _two_ F7As in the hands of players. Which is why I and some other owners of both the Heartseeker mk1 and the F7A mk2 have been hoping for _both_ an F7C-M mk2 Heartseeker _and_ an F7A mk2 Heartseeker. Part of me was hoping that if we saw three Heartseekers available, we'd see three unique nose arts. You're right about CIG being clear about not allowing us to reclaim melted F7A mk2 upgrades if we melt. My F7C mk2 was upgraded from a CIG-gifted Sabre so I couldn't melt it if I wanted to. Which was intentional.
@@Storm-Cleaver If you want the actual pin-up girl, ask for that but the point I was making is, the hulls are completely different, each with their own lore and pros/cons. Be careful about things because eventually(if CIG holds true to original lore and intent) the proper, actual military ships are going to be one whole step above the civilian combat ships. The F7A is literally the singular, only proper military ship currently owned by players that is flight ready. Idris-M is the next in line. That F7A is something special, at least was intended to be but Marketing™ controls things now.
I have just returned to the verse. It is interesting. Some times things are ok, but Yesterday i was shot into space from an elevator, didn’t get any noutrition from food and other fun stuff. Interesting what Will happen next time I log on.
I had little problem playing 4.0.1 Saturday. A few hiccups where the trams weren't moving & couldn't leave the hanger, post-landing, to go to the port lobby. Sunday, I got shard locked. So I couldn't play.
I think capacity with the servers is also an issue, ive never seen the game so busy. I connected this morning to check the update and i was in 86th in the queue to connect to one of the eu servers.
Super hornet seems interesting with extra 8 missiles on reg and 4xS4 on heartseeker. Although with current speeds set to heartseeker turret guns it is not going to be really viable on PvP
I have had a much better experience since the hotfix went live. Before that it was really bad. Still have to call an Elevator 3 or 4 times to get it to show up when the doors open.
I earned 300,000,000 credits hauling and went to purchase a vulture, after I purchased it said transaction failed. It took my money and left me with no vulture. I immediately logged out and logged back in and that seemed to fix it giving me the vulture. Heart dropped for a sec tho lol
So far my worst bug I just got yesterday was my reclaimer with 300k work of rcm disappearing and the ship being stored in in a small station unable to be pulled out
Again last night I got what looks like a concrete wall blocking my hanger when the hangers doors open and you can't get out, It'll eat your ship.... Had hoped the HOTFIX would fix that but nope, lol
I've been lucky enough to not have any of the hangar issues outside of one everus incident where my ship just phased through the hangar floor while landing and one tram at NB not having a floor. Overall it's been pretty smooth so I guess I'm lucky!
This patch has been maybe 30% better than 4 0 was. I can access some elevators, and exit hangars. Just as good was finding that freight elevators were working so I could actually finish hauling missions. Now.i can try other mission types
Would love to see more about that Misc. I salvage in the Vulture and want to see how long a run is in the misc along with the profit. I believe I was making roughly 340k each run on the Vulture on panels. Might be more but it's been several months since I've stopped in 3.24 (reached MSR and Ion)
I'm sad that ships get stored as soon as you leave the hangar. Used to be able to go shopping and come back to your ride still idling, ready to lift off.
There are massive issues with the CFP faction event missions due to the excessive amount of murder-hobo/seal-clubbing players in pyro. If even a single SCU crate gets destroyed the mission becomes impossible to complete and must be abandoned. Abandoning the missions comes with a MASSIVE rep hit, that can easily drive you into a hostile reputation with CFP.

Well your the first content creator that I have heard mention 4.0.2 and even 4.1. Roll on the updates
Will still be waiting for signs of more stability before I jump into pyro for the first time
Holy crap I won the January giveaway! Thanks Bored! Love your videos!
I'll get it sorted out during the week.
If you can reply to the original comment and drop me a message on contact@boredgamer.co.uk
@BoredGamerUK done and done. Thanks again!
Gratz trekie82!
My experience is very mixed. Getting into the game with friends takes even longer. On even had to repair his char. It was stuck on server, but he couldn’t get in xD
And my ship exploded in the hangar, because my landing gear was bugged and the hangar didn’t want me in there anymore. Fun times
I am really excited for the perseus! this can be a great year for sc... if they get the game to run smooth!
Congrats Trekkie82 and good luck and good Fortune to everyone for February!
Love the Vulture, i doubt anything can beat my love for it!
Coramor may be a minor event, it's one of my favorite SC events! I love the paints... And hopeful to see the Starseeker Mk.II!
4.0.1 has worked almost bug free for me, though i only was in pyro once, rest of the time i was in stanton. Only bugs i found was fell through the floor coming out of a hanger and got stuck in an elevator, to which i logged out and back on.
Can't imagine loading rmc crates off grid on the fortune
Sounds like your issues are basically irl tech support and out of date software issues. Your drive doesn’t work, turn it off and back on, reboot system, turn it off and back on again, bang with hammer. Little too close to life, so definitely a close simulator then! Still looking forward to showing up in the personal hanger, and be better if you could bed log reliably in ship, in your hanger! Best thing would be game stability so glad they are focusing on that.
The cig stream later this week is going to be interesting... Hope they continue the openness from the last announcement
Really hope they keep their promice on polishing this year!
Excited to see the new super hornet and hope they make good progress fixing issues this month
Ya know, if this was real life, a ship with a name like the Misc Fortune would have the nick name: "misfortune".
Complete Fight for Pyro before the launch of Alpha 4.0.2 to cinch an exclusive Pyro-themed Ripper SMG.
The P-8 SMG Is better.
@@madmechanic7976 yea, not really worried about that. I am more a completionist, so I was just curious if this will go away with the 4.0.2 is coming out.
Curious to see what the new Hornet is like. I don't generally go in for fighters, but it seems pretty nifty.
Will be waiting to see if this patch fixes the issues that have come up. I hope they keep focusing on making the game playable
Fortune (especially in red!) looks amazing!
The big problems I am seeing are losing the ability to access items in a crate while in in my storage and not being able to enter my hanger at some stations.
I hope server stability will improve drastically soon. Right now it is not reliabel enough. CIG needs to get that done ASAP.
My favourite "all that kind of jazz" - guy
Honestly 4.0.1 is starting to work consistently for me, which is nice (even with once daily game breaking bugs that let me know it’s time to go to bed)
In a year, CIG will half the rate the vulture scrapes because, "everyone uses the vulture instead of the Fortune so clearly its OP."
It was Coramor and I upgraded one of my LTI tokens _that day._
I flew the Heartseeker as my main solo fighter from that day on, mostly saving the Scorpius for times when I had a co-pilot.
Thanks for the update, been loving this patch so far.
I had little problem playing 4.0.1 Saturday. A few hiccups where the trams weren't moving & couldn't leave the hanger, post-landing, to go to the port lobby. Sunday, I got shard locked. So I couldn't play.
I love the look and idea of the fortune. I hope I can get one soon!
I think capacity with the servers is also an issue, ive never seen the game so busy.
I connected this morning to check the update and i was in 86th in the queue to connect to one of the eu servers.
I just got the game im hyped and ive been doing a lot of research. im ready for my ship to despawn mid flight! LETS GOOOOO!!!!
Super hornet seems interesting with extra 8 missiles on reg and 4xS4 on heartseeker.
Although with current speeds set to heartseeker turret guns it is not going to be really viable on PvP
I wouldn't say no to the fortune. It's like solo salvaging in the Reclaimer with less seat jumping.
Oh that would definitely induce some stress lol
always my go to channel for unbiased CIG reporting, keep up the good work.
The misc fortune being named as a separate ship and not a variant is interesting
So far the new patch has been good for me, we’ll see if that lasts. I’m excited for the Heartseeker mk 2 and can’t wait for it to drop.
Hopefully we can start seeing some transit refactor stuff start to populate into 4.0.2.
QT and elevators are the most frequent bugs for me now.
This update brought back the fear of elevators 17.2 gave me...
Lost my cargo to a bug (inconvenient but not the first or last time, I think) and yet, despite that, I'm fairly pleased with the rounds of hotfixes.
Hopefully it is in a better state when my new flight sticks come in a month or so from now.
I’ve been dying to try salvage contracts but couldn’t find a salvage ship to hire to try it out, so could really do with a misc fortune 😉
There are massive issues with the CFP faction event missions due to the excessive amount of murder-hobo/seal-clubbing players in pyro. If even a single SCU crate gets destroyed the mission becomes impossible to complete and must be abandoned. Abandoning the missions comes with a MASSIVE rep hit, that can easily drive you into a hostile reputation with CFP.
sad that some locations are still broken, but I am glad I am able to play a little.
