How do you even read these lol are you suppose to improvise everything Jazz seems so hard

Yeah, well this is called a lead sheet. It only gives you the main structure and the accents of the music and dynamics and so on. The rest is indeed improvising - so yeah, can be hard if you are not used to it. This one is so fast that it becomes even more difficult. (except for Vinnie;)

I've always been curious how do jazz drummers know what to play without the notation do they just come up with it instantly or memorize it? especially the solos
