My parents had a record with Pachelbel's canon and other works by Pachelbel. As a teenager, I went to listen to the canon for the nth time, but I left the record player running and the second piece started. It was this Chaconne in F, played by a string quartet. I found it absolutely haunting. It spoke to me in a way no music had ever done. I listened to it several times, at full volume on the living room stereo when my parents were out. I danced to it. I *never* dance. Then I left my parents' home and went to live by myself. I thought about that music from time to time, but had forgotten its name. I remembered it was by Pachelbel but nobody I spoke to knew about it. I started to think I had imagined it. Years later I was by myself at an organ concert and the organist started playing it. Floodgates opened in my mind . Memories of my teenage years engulfed me. I just lost it and started crying. My neighbors asked me I was all right at the end, I told them I was more than all right. I had not dreamed it, it was real and it was called the Chaconne in F. Nobody knows about any of this, I never told it to anyone. Thank you so much for this great interpretation. It's the first time I heard it on the piano, and it's a wonderful performance.
I would just ruin everything if I ll add something but at least, have a nice life you three and you all. Let s never get sic of musick. Thank for sharing and your time for texting and performing. Thank you for listening what you have to and it s more cultures, in my opinion. See you I heaven along with the masters I hope
I got chills when I read your story about this Pachelbel Chaconne! I'm primarily an organist and was introduced to this work when I bought a CD of organist Piet Kee playing it on the stunning Gabler organ in the Weingarten Basilica in Germany, and I've loved this piece ever since, though I've never played it.
An soul-moving interpretation of the Chaconne in F-minor by the not too well-known baroque composer Johann Pachelbel. Thank you very much for the wonderful music.
Brilliant performance I've never heard this piece before in all my years of playing piano and going to concerts thankyou for choosing such interesting repertoire
SO WONDERFUL AS ALWAYS!!!!! Thank you for one of my favourite composers and for an excellent performance, of course, my big "like-thumb up-upvote" 55 for this great rendition, again my best wishes from Poland, have a happy Sunday. Joanna

Divine. As beautifully, sublimely painful and melancholy on the piano as it is done by a string quartet, or as it was originally intended to be played-on organ. Am I mad to feel that somehow the Chaconne in F minor expresses beautifully to the world what I myself can *never* find words for: the endless isolation, solitude of the chronic pain my MS never stops causing???
One of my favourite works by any composer, and performed gorgeously here - spare, rich, structured, impressionistic. You've brought out all the facets of this jewel.
I heard the piece played on the organ and love it instantly. I didn’t know the work can also be played so beautifully and richly heartfelt on the piano. Thank you!
This is as fine a work as anything I have heard from Bach , and that is saying alot . The performer played it with such empathy . Simply mesmerizing and haunting .
Magnificent piece, at the level of the best, I mean Bach chaconne, Bieber chaconne surprise me I didn’t know this piece Is magic the piece and how you play it Thank you

I have a perhaps idiotic question, Mr Chaimovich: did you have difficulty finding sheet music for the Chaconne in F moll adapted for *piano*? I recently (yesterday) received my new Yamaha M405 Console Piano, and am so very moved by your interpretation of Pachelbel’s Chaconne, I *have* to try!
Hello, not an 'idiotic question' at all :-) Here we go: imslp.org/wiki/Chaconne_in_F_minor,_P.43_(Pachelbel,_Johann) Editor: Max Seiffert (the first entry in the list of scores). Enjoy - it's a wonderful compostion.
@@VadimChaimovich, thank you so very, very much!!!!! I *knew* the first time I heard you play that you were an extraordinary artist, and person. As soon as I recover from my surgery and can sit up again, I’ll get to this--and I cannot wait!

5:15 and onwards, my absolute favorite, especially on organ, where it's sometimes played forte and is just epic.

Vadim, of course, bring their own, but Pachelbel leaves ).
t seems that the style here has outgrown the Baroque ?
If only people knew more of Pachelbel's music beyond the ubiquitous Canon in D that is played at nearly every wedding!
Beautiful seldomly played piece and wonderful performance!
In my mind, Mr. Pachelbel would have been very happy listening to this.
)) Maybe he's playing there now ?
somewhat disturbing and very accurate, isn't it ?
