This is exactly what I do with my leftover pie crust (my recipe makes too much). It's my default recipe ti be exact. I stuff them with jam or sliced apples and a bit of sugar. I have to admit that I overstuf those quite often. 😅 . I am lucky to still have one grandmother (I'm 29) and we treasure every moment we spend with her. Love from France.
Your dog is precious! I understand that ALL Elliotts came from a few brother's that came to America. If in fact that is true (and I'm pretty sure it is) then we could be relatives as my mother was an Elliott. She is gone and I am nearly 81.
Ah wow, watching this video in the cold southern hemisphere makes me yearn for summer. We are in the middle of winter here and although we don’t get that cold (no snow) all the browns everywhere (everything looses its leaves and turn brown and yellow - my least favourite colours) really drains the joy right out of me 😅 But that intro reminded me of what is to come and that even nature needs to hibernate for a few months
This is so evocative of memories of my grandmother's wonderful baking days. Out came the large pine pastry board which I now have, the ancient wooden rolling pin with its impossibly ridged surface gained from rolling round the edges of a million pie dishes. She made the most superb golden flaky pastry with her own home churned butter, and filled her turnovers with luscious jams made from her garden berries, or apples. Dollops of naturally thickened crème fraîche (though we never heard of that expression then) from her own cows, were the crowning glory of fruity piefulness.
Idea! 💡 You have awesome wood counter tops. Maybe creatively you could put Mark's on you counter top as a permanent ruler. Then you wouldn't need the tape measure. Maybe a wood burner? Just a thought
Our family loves hand pies as well. Loved the video, Shaye. Thank you for the reminder of how to use our excess berries. I'm looking forward to making some pies!
Thank you- this channel has inspired and encouraged to pursue new goals and dreams and ways to incorporate the things I value for a future fam someday. Love love love :) God bless!
Do you use your copper pans pots to cook? I’m wondering what you think about copper to cook with and is there something specific needed to make it a good copper pot?
You definitely made that look easy 🤣🤣 Made this with the berries I foraged the other day. Never made anything like this before and I'd say the main issue was rolling the dough too thin. Very tasty and pretty simple. Practice makes perfect 😅
What a beautiful red merle Aussie...got one myself. Smart and family loyal, plus a good herder for your farm. Enjoy him~pretty big for 9 weeks! Thank you for this tart recipe. Doable for even me!
I'm curious about the lid on your jam!!!! Darling! Is that a lid for canning or decorative for once opened? I have seen others use this for canning and wonder where to purchase them.
