  • Hi all ,Today I'm going to show you a refurbished plumbing Rusty Pipe Wrench .
    I took the tool from the scrap in backyard of my house and decided to give it a new and lustrous look.
    The key to the pipe was extremely rusty, it was a real challenge to do.
    His jaw was shattered, his nut was blocked.
    1 First I disassembled it, using anti-rust solution, forcibly removed the screw with a hammer.
    2 I removed the rust manually with a wire brush, then I put them in the vinegar, even though the tail was too big but I put it completely in the vinegar.
    3 The nut was mutilated, it was necessary to put a lathe to give it shape again.
    4 The screw was completely destroyed, I buy a new for it.
    5 The mobile jaw was the somewhat affected, so i slightly reconditioned it.
    6 I blackened the mobile jaw by simple Oil Blackening Method.
    7 Paint the fixed part with orange color to give it a Pro look.
    8 Fixed the dents using Maestero Putti (dent filling compound) and allow it to dry and later on sanded the extra gap or dent filling compound from it.
    9 More in the video
    I encourage you to leave a comment with your opinion.
    Also, a like and a subscription helps me a lot and urges me to move onward .More Restorations

    should have used a flap disc to get rid of imperfections in steel not that compound or whatever it was.

    Nice way to not only restore an old tool but upgrade a lesser tool to look nice. Thanks.

    Except now, due to all the lathe work, the nut is too loose in the gap and the wrench doesn’t work as well.

    You omitted the blade and coil spring in the handle, plus all the lathe work on the collar but made the entire jaw adjustment loose and sloppy. May look pretty, but I doubt even the paint will hold up with plastic filler underneath. Who taught you to file with a forward/reverse motion, it works slower, and makes your file dull, forward only, lift, and repeat! Pretty shoddy!

    Very Good .. My Question is : why you put only small part of wrench into the flame ? and after then which chemical you use to dip this part ? Looking forward ! thank you

    • @DavidsProfession
      @DavidsProfession  ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually we put the small part and to dip into the liquid is only to harden that specific part. Rest of the tool is kept cool so to keep it flexible and soft.
      Its the oil not any other thing or chemical.
      You are welcome @sidkhan9871

    He omitted adding the two springs inside the head which are present in all stilson wrenches. They were probably not present in the original rusted out tool because they had rusted away. In the USA replacement springs are available from Zoro Tools and other places.

    Looks great, but why do you keep saying “lathe work” when you don’t use a lathe? You use a bench vise.

    "Let's do some lathe work" too many times. Camera was also too close on most shots, and you should be wearing closed-toe shoes when working with power tools.

    • @DavidsProfession
      @DavidsProfession  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah.. repeated lathe work phrase was due to the mistake of editor of this video.checked with it what was the reason for that. He told, the file before rendering the video was crashed and upon reloading the backup of video, i missed to look up the lower third text. and yes few other mistakes related to camera work were there to be looked in the next projects. safety measures were also not properly taken...Sorry Evan Horton, you wont see these highlighted points in the next projects..

    Why do people that make these videos think they should add music? It takes away from the calming experience of hearing the tools be restored. Automatic dislike from me, sorry
