I watch him wrestle at the San Diego County Fair every year. Great guy and still in good shape after all these years, probably in best shape from all the wrestlers from his generation.
Jimmy Snuka has always been a favorite of mine. He was a top star that should have won at least the Intercontinental Championship and the Tag Team Championships.
Your 250 pounds and still have to slam a 350 pound man. There was a promotion called IPW they can’t wrestle Proving not just anyone can do it. And the training is not to make you able to wrestle it’s people who can already move and toss and tumble.
It is very interesting to hear these interviews and get to know about what was really happening in the buissiness. These people are heroes in the Wrestling buissiness most of them have went through so many hardships and Real injuries from Real hits not matter how staged it is
sydIRISH he has a brother Dave they both ref. On a hogan is wheb they brought Dave. Allegedly the million dollar paid a man to have plastic surgeries to cheat in a match

Coke and roids, no one can ever take away what he did the ring. But the man was legit crazy outside of it. That dark side of the ring documentary was super depressing.
Alot of people were as popular as Hulk. Curt and Brett were the best wrestlers but the only one that couldve outshined Hogan was the Snake 🐍 DDT DDT DDT DDT DDT DDT
Nah.. the kids loved Hogan. He had the most personality amd he took wrestling into the stratosphere. The most money they make is on merchandising and Hogan had way more potential to sell action figures, posters etc...Personally I liked Snuka better.
The interviewer’s mentioning the no blood policy being started in the late 80s makes me wonder if Hulk Hogan’s blade job at Wrestlemania V was okayed by Vince. I never heard of his getting in trouble over it.
+XD3unit Your account isn't exactly accurate. It's believed that if Snuka is indeed guilty, his assault did not directly his wife, but that he caused her to fall and hit her head, which is what resulted in her death. This happened in 1983, but Snuka was never arrested despite the presence of injuries on the wife's body that seemed consistent with spousal abuse. Last year, 32 years after the fact, a grand jury decided to indict him on charges, and he was arrested on Sept. 1 on suspicion of said charges.

Credit where it is due, he was a great classic Heel and great worker that could cut a promo. You loved to hate the gimmick..... On the other hand it's said what a pain he was to work with and his story version of past events are complete BS.
😳 Honky Tonk Man! You might not have been afraid of Jimmy Snuka! 😳 But I know you probably are still Afraid of the Greatest Wrestler of all Times! Dr David Schultz!
What possible reasons would Chris Benoit have to kill his family that he loved so much? Was there another man? Was it Kevin Sullivan fulfilling his promise using satanists or fellow pro wrestlers?
Surgery would mean he'd have to take time off. Most wrestlers in the 80s-90s were paid per show. Time off for surgery meant no paycheck, and possibly being fired
wah! my pec is torn! wah! I've got a concussion and a headache! wah! my nose is broken! rub some dirt on it ya baby. I'm kidding. how do you even wrestle when you can't use one arm? also, your opponents safety too to consider.
I feel so bad for all the veteran wrestlers. What a rough life but man did they make my childhood awesome.
Same here! WWF in the 80’s was my entire life. Too bad it went to shit around 2000
Great Post
So many great memories of our youth are directly connected to our heroes in the ring.
Never thought HTM would be an awesome guest. Like his interviews very much.
HTM looks amazing for his age
i could listen to htm all day. i love the way he tells a story. he is also one of the smartest and most honest guys around.
My bad for being 4yrs last but you so right, he speaks nothing like a person who's been taking hits to the head way b4 most of us was born
@@vanessadotson8067 Some family too 👀
He looks like a guy that you know, very open and honest.
No way, he lies through his teeth!!!
For the sacrifices these men made, in order to make me smile and put joy in my life, I will forever be grateful!

tiburon760 Good shape? He looked like absolute shit in his prime how could he be in good shape now?
@@scottbrooks6975 let's see you wrestler then.
These HTM vids are AWSOME!
agreed!
It’s actually quite nice listening to honky-tonk talk comes across as a real genuine person
HTM's blood don't gush out his nose it gurshes out.

I love listening to HTM talk. Great shoot talker.
Real are fake we have to respect these guys when we see them now and listen to their stories they took a beating to entertain us night after night.

HTM is a true wikipedia of Wrestling. The knowledge he has is mindblowing.

My favorite wrestler!!!
Snuka's splash finish on honky tonk looked incredible!
Love these stories how they have to work with each to entertain the audience.
When was Earl Hebner NOT the ref in a match??? He was ALWAYS the referee!!!!
Of course, it could've been his "evil twin"....who knows???
sydIRISH he has a brother Dave they both ref. On a hogan is wheb they brought Dave. Allegedly the million dollar paid a man to have plastic surgeries to cheat in a match
rip
Lol seems that way
Don't forget Danny Davis, lol.
Remember Joey Morella, he used to be a regular before he died. Was also Gorilla Monsoons son
i love the sounds he made
Snuka was in great shape when he came back for that run.
dang Honky Tonk . . . you really took many for the team. I LOVED to HATE you when I was a kid . . . in retrospect it means you a genius at your craft. Thank you Honky Tonk Man!!
He was the biggest star of the wwf he didn't need a belt back in the days
I knew, even back in the early 80s (wwf), some of those matches involved some real pain and injury.
Amazing what these guys through.
Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka was a contestant on the January 15, 2017 episode of the game show Celebrity Bucket Kickers.
When he talks about Snuka he looks down. Other q's he looks straight towards the dude asking them. Doesn't have to mean aaaanything, just a reflection and...just sayin'...

People are still cutting. Heck, it didn't stop, lol.
you know what a concussion feels like ! welcome to the world of chris benoit
Always enjoyed your matches Mr. Tonk, you sure know how to play a guitar.
Loved this guy! Wayne Ferris!! His routine and intro and act was the best!! As for Snuka hmmm this is shocking to me……………………
+vballref4 check out the "snackbar" matches that ferris and (i can't remember his tag partner at the time) had against lawler and various tag partners of lawler's- great matches- hilarious. every single thing in the joint that was a good item was used
+postaltraining That was Larry Latham (real name Larry Booker) who would go on and become Moondog Spot. He passed away during a match. RIP.
Well we all know now Jimmy did it
Jimmy Snuka had a cocain problem like you wouldn’t believe! Dark Side of the Ring did a episode about it.
Coke and roids, no one can ever take away what he did the ring. But the man was legit crazy outside of it. That dark side of the ring documentary was super depressing.
It was the 80’s. They all did
Blood was "gurshing".
When Hogan was getting his monster push, Snuka was more over than Hogan..no doubt about it...
blind poet38 hogan was already on top
Hogan was number 1 Snuka was number 2 sometimes 3 after Sgt Slaughter .._ he was the top guy and most over when Bob Backlund was champion tho.
Piper confirmed this in his shoot interview about the coconut incident.
Alot of people were as popular as Hulk. Curt and Brett were the best wrestlers but the only one that couldve outshined Hogan was the Snake 🐍 DDT DDT DDT DDT DDT DDT

Just a shame that "GUNTER" has beat HTM record. A legend.
Would any of the boys say they think or thought Jimmy killed his girlfriend? I don't think they would say yes
They probably were shocked about that
She was a ring rat who snorted more blow than she could handle. Blaming Snuka because the b*tch was Caucasian. 🙄
I must get that hair cut.
Snuka is that kind of guy.
Woo Hoo! I was like # 800!
The blood was gershing out...
yeah i caught that too, what an idiot he sounded like, lol
I remember watching this shoot interview for the first time years and years ago. This was peak Honky lol

Since there seems to be so many "Firsthand Witnesses" that were in the hotel room with
Jimmy and the lady that night, it should be an easy case!
R.I.P Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka.
R.I.P. women beating murderer.

He was suffering from brain damage.

Honky Tonk Man didn't say anything bad about Snuka.
I’m sure there is a HTM video later on where he says “I knew all along Jimmy did it, I knew he was guilty of killing his wife”!

Damn funny story telling
Seems like a nice dude
Most of these wrestlers look old as Hell, but Honky Tonk looks the same.
I thought the saying was
Blood = $$$$
Does he still rock that hairdo, or is it just for the interview?
2:05-2:20 I laughed so hard
Wrestling is more interesting with bloody matches on a regular basis
I wonder if his view on Snuka has changed now due to the conviction.

Conviction? Not yet anyway. Jury selection starts on March 22nd.
Kevin Phillips I thought he got convicted already, but in any case, we know what Vince's feelings are about it.

Thats right Jimmy Superfly Snuka never won a match against Mr. Perfect
He lived in my neighborhood. Drove a riding mower around. He was great I miss him

So he tore his peck, and didn't get surgery???
