I’ve had the PSVR2 a few weeks now and I absolutely love it. My son has a meta quest 3 so I’ve tried pancake lens. I have no issue with anything on the headset. There are some amazing experiences to be had on it. GT7, subside, legendary tales, res evil 8, Synapse, no man’s sky have all been excellent. I’m just hoping Sony continues to support through 2025.
@@bytesizeclu I’ve been gaming since manic miner on the spectrum in 1984 and I will say this. GT7 is probably the best gaming experience I’ve had in my life. For me it was worth the purchase of the headset alone. The other games have just been an added bonus. There are quite a few decent free games if you pay for premium which I do. Like saints and sinners, synapse, walks out golf, tales from galaxies edge, synth riders. I almost have too many games to play.
@@FizzWizard I feel the same. GT7 was wow on my 1st try. and synapse is great too. I have quest 3 as well. Ive also been a gamer vive 84 and still have the spectrum 48k I started on.
@@linzkirk This has been my first venture into VR and I am absolutely blown away by the content lately. The games I’m looking forward too now are all in VR. Have you tried Subside yet? It’s absolutely amazing. Best graphics I’ve seen.
Could be 5 to 10 years out. PSVR2 is kind of future proofed. With PS6 games will just look a lot better on psvr2. That's why it also works with PC. So it will be about for a while.
Thanks for the review. Mine shows up Monday; I got the bundle with Horizon for $359.99. Actually learned about the little spots that hold the headphones from this. Had no idea what those were before. 😅 Really excited about the haptics. I had the PlayStation Pulse Elite headset back during the PS3 era and it was amazing to feel the game vibrations and such. Not many people have even heard of this headset. Such a missed out feature on most headphones released these days and Sony was way ahead of this but let it go after that one until this VR. I haven't used a VR headset since the PSVR1 came out and I barely used it due to the massive headache to even set it up each time. I'm okay with the one cable and simple plug and play method now. I'll take the better fidelity and lower latency than being completely wireless - it's also a perk that it's always charged. Looking to get my hands on the PC adapter when it's back in stock as well. Not paying over $100 for it on eBay from resellers. This will really open up the library available and make the most use of the heaset. Will ride out the current issues with it since it's a fairly new "feature" supported. Was surprised how highly you talked about it with some negatives and then not recommending it. 😬 I think I'll be pretty happy with it overall even though the game selection could be larger and have more genres involved. Not too big into shooters anymore and that's a big hit to the library for sure (even on PC too).
My biggest issue was the library or lack of to be honest and that was my reason for not recommending it, don’t get me wrong as a piece of VR hardware it’s amazing, great lenses and features but for PCVR there are better options and for standalone the quest 3 is king in my eyes. That said don’t let it put you off! It’s still a great bit of kit and I suspect you will still have a lot of fun with it
PSVR2 is great its just not good for room scale aplications so I never use mine, currenrly my favorite headset I cant use because of bad percise tracking, also the halo strap is fine but not ideal. So that being said the lenses are not the issue, i own a quest 3 and the color accuracy of the psvr2 makes up for less clairity of boost of the quest 3, the psvr2 has a better field of view and better binocular overlap than quest 3, its great headset sadly like I said I cant use it because I play roomescale games and the camera based tracking system on it is very poor.
@bytesizeclu yes but the oled and haptics don't make up for the rest lol I wanted to like it and tried to but in the end was a big no for me anyway. usually get told your blind and hated on and stuff by the fanboys but I often wonder if they are because they don't notice all the downsides lol it's just my opinion though no need to get hurt by it if you enjoy it keep using it lol
@@bytesizeclu when it has a 4K oled then why would it allow you to watch in full hd !!!! I mean this is trash. You spend 350-500 dollars on a vr headset and sony is going to dictate the terms and conditions. And then you spend another 500 dollars on buying a ps5. Meaning it just doesn’t have the hardware in it to call it a vr . It just a display screen

That’s awesome, I will be honest I didn’t get a chance to try GT7 or Resident evil, perhaps I just tried the wrong titles!

Synth riders is my favourite, loved call of the mountain too, walk about is one I play on the quest a lot too

Yeah I don’t see the PSVR3 till the PS6, I would recommend if you really want to jump into PSVR do it now

nope I disliked this hmd first one I have ever put on and was let down bu all its downfalls
I agree, although the OLED displays are certainly a nice addition as are the haptics

Is the video that good huh?
Trash vr headset with too many nuances and fussed about what it can do, amongst other trash vr headsets and then you need to buy a ps5
I am not sure I would call it trash, it has its audience for sure but you would have to be a pretty diehard Sony fan and already own a PS5
There is now a addon that will allow you to use it on pc
Yep, however it has its own set of issues, and honestly if your spending £500 on a headset there de Everett PCVR options
