The fact that there is already an excessive amount of demand awaiting its absorption, despite how everyone is frightened and calling the crash, is another reason why it is less likely to occur that way. 2008 saw no one, at least not the broad public, making this forecast, as I'll explain below. The ownership rate was noted to have peaked in 2004 in the other comment. Having previously peaked in the second quarter of 2020, we are currently at the median level. Between 2008 and 2012, it dropped by 3%, and by the second quarter of 2020, it had dropped from 68 to 65.

I wholeheartedly concur, which is why I appreciate giving an investment coach the power of decision-making. Given their specialized expertise and education, as well as the fact that each and every one of their skills is centered on harnessing risk for its asymmetrical potential and controlling it as a buffer against certain unfavorable developments, it is practically impossible for them to underperform. I have made over $745k working with an investment coach for more than two years.

I thought that high-paying job would change my life, that something would be changed in my family dynamics. I've always heard about lack of money and lack of space to live together because of lack of money to afford a bigger apartment. So I've worked my way to good-paying job (to the country standards I earn x2 the average income, so pretty good working in the 9-to-5 for just 5 years starting without any experience). You see, my dad left us before I was born (there is a whole story as well), my family never was even in the middle, always somewhere between poor and middle, we were living 3 generations (6 people) in a 3 room apartment. My mom left me at grandparents' home (the same apartment) when I was 10 to live with her new husband. Now 15 years later, I know that the money was never the problem, the lack of taking responsibility for actions was.
I don't regret working hard last 5 years, as I made my life more comfortable, and I can now afford to buy some things for myself and my family, and I can pay for a therapist.

My uncle is very successful and Rich, he wears jeans and Polo shirts when he isn’t in a business suit. Works out daily and only takes those 7 day vacations a few times a year to recharge. No fancy watch, no fancy designer clothes, nothing crazy. The ONLY way you’d even somewhat know he has money is by what he drives. He only owns various Porsche but that’s because he loves the brand. He told me you have have to do things for YOU. He stated don’t buy a car you can’t afford or clothes you don’t really want to show off for others. Wear those comfy jeans and that favorite faded shirt if it feels good. Drive a Honda or a Toyota because they are good cars and cost very little to maintain. Saves money that you can invest instead of spend consuming.

My wife and I started and sold a business years ago for about $13 mil. We then helped out friends and family with some financial problems for amounts ranging from $10K - $300K. I was amazed that not a one of them appreciated the money nor did they feel obligated to pay it back. That was 30+ yrs ago and only one person (my brother) ever paid it back, the rest just assumed we could afford to give the money away and kept it. I never said a word to any of them, but if it were me I would have felt obligated to pay back the money just as soon as I was able. It was shocking. Also, to a lesser extent, every sports team, organization and school function for the kids felt like we should be the sponsor of everything, buy all of the uniforms, pay all of the tourney fees, pay travel costs, etc... Just shocking the expectations of others.

    • @godofwar4276

Your fault for not setting the expectation of paying back upfront. No loan ever gets given without negotiation of terms no matter how liberal the terms may be. Your brother paid back because he felt an obligation, just as you said you would do. I assume 30+ years ago you were young and naive about the human psychology. I am from India. I always hear people around me, including my parents and relatives, blame Mukesh Ambani for stealing all the wealth of the country and letting the country die in poverty. I grew up hearing these opinions so I believed them.
But a few years back, when I was introduced to the alternate thoughts about wealth and rich people from different books and from this channel, I realised how wrong everyone is.
I try to explain them that the number of jobs that Mukesh Ambani has created in this country is remarkable. I don't think the Government of India has enough to employ all the individuals if it was not for these entrepreneurs. But the truth is most people don't want to believe this.

All the rich that i am aware of always do good for their country whether they live abroad or not. Currently the Ambanis are building some green spaces so that we can atleast prosper from the environment. Or try to fix the damage. The projects are big. As other commenters say, make sure not only to engage your diverse student peers during classes but also after you graduate. I routinely email my Academic Advisor + 3-4 past professors. They’re a source of inspiration, book recommendations, and friendship. Make use of clubs and your physical activity requirements if you’ve not fulfilled them yet... After listening to Deepak Chopra's CD - Affluence A - Z, it caused my paradigm to shift. As a child, I lived in an area that had a lot of financially wealthy people while my parents were at or below the poverty line. There were 2 families whose children I went to school with, who were cousins of the Kennedys. They were driven to school in a black car with tinted windows by their personal driver, then picked up after school.

It's meant for the spring and fall and it is very forgiving of temperatures. It's kind of like an all-out jacket. It's high quality. It's not tacky but looks like something you'd get at Walmart for $40 dollars. As far as goods go, we live in an age where we can make knock-offs of art and fashion, allowing everyone to have more selections based on their taste. No one is looking for a handout. They're looking to *earn* the wages they actually deserve. Without the employees, the rich would have virtually nothing. Your question, is a tough one to answer. Personally, I stopped wanting what I couldn't afford, like my own home, for example, because they go up in price faster than I can save for it, and I'm not willing sacrifice my free time, to earn more money. So, I accept what is.

Going to Dubai. I thought Dubai was the ultimate goal. I would fly through for work, and I vacationed once but after the 5th time flying through, it got old. Unless you’re super rich or a celebrity it’s not that great (it’s cool don’t get me wrong). Travel in general is fun for the pictures and once you get to the destination but “traveling” f-ing blows. Long flights, lugging your bags around, costs, and currency exchange. It’s great for an experience definitely. I don’t miss the flights unless I’m in business class on an Emirates flight.
