    Sink art is great for starters too. It’s Sumi ink slopped on. Wait a couple of minutes, then rinse it in the sink with running water. You will get several shades of grays.

    Thanks for the complete info about ATCs. I was intimidated to start but you showed exactly what I needed ❤

    I've wanted to do ATC swaps for years and years, almost 20. 😅 Never found the right group or the right moment. Shame this is Oct/November swap as it's the busiest time of the year. Maybe I should start making a backlog of ATCs so I could trade any time I find a swap going...

    Your ATC is beautiful- the fall colors are my favorite! ❤❤❤

    That looks like a fun technique. I will try to remember! The ATC swap sounds fun but not this year, I am retiring November 1st after 37 years 10 months in my day job. It's a huge transition but I am ready for the new life chapter. To process my feelings I did an art-journal style vision board which I will share on your FB group. I am looking forward to participating in your Art Venture group in the new year, but I am giving myself the gift of enjoying the holidays without a ton of commitments.

    I love to watch you ink paper and doodle shapes. My paper always looks like mud. I think I need to let them dry more between layers.

      @SandyAllnock1  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Try analogous colors-less likely to make mud👍🏻

    Getting ready for a swap now. Started doing them around 2004. You're correct they can be horizontal or vertical. So many possibilities!

    I came upon your work whilst searching for photographic negative copying and general photographic styles and methods, I watched as you turned the paper into a very beautiful pice of art! I had thought before you said the theme was Autumn and that I also got the feeling of connection, like the mycelium from the wonderful world of fungus, or the interweaving of Lichen on grave stones, which by the way I don’t find morbid, but rather fascinating that what lies in these places are story’s of life and even fashion. I used to do a design that was interweaving climbing branches that I would interweave around a celebratory card, just to make it unique as every one I did was an individual piece of art.
    When it came to cutting the card into its pieces, I thought how wonderful that in the future, someone may try and locate the prices to reunite the whole.
    I think it’s a beautiful idea and I’m sure that in many years to come, they will become collectors pieces that will undoubtably have a value, a little like those sewing panels that 10 and 12 year old girls did to practice their sewing skills, they have a name I think it begins with!🤔 are they samplers? Anyway I will subscribe and wish you all the very best in the venture, so lovely in these times of unrest and greed around power and money! David 73 years old U.K. New Forest

      Thank you so much David! I'm not sure anyone will connect or reunite the pieces🤣! Have a great day.☀️

    I used to make ATCs. I put some in magnetic sleeves & placed them on a file cabinet for inspiration in my art space. This video makes me want to make more.

    I'm late to the game on reading this. I've only made a few ATC's in my life. If we participate do we make just 1 or do we make 9? I think this will be fun.

    Those are beautiful! What a great idea because I also have a lot of that same ink that needs using. Was the 100% cotton watercolor paper? I wish I could join the ATC fun but unfortunately, I have surgery on Tuesday that will leave me one handed / armed for the next 6 weeks. But I am going to try that technique before then!

    Sandy, I love your art! I have a question, and please don't take this as criticism. (I'm a woman healing from deep trauma and trying to use art in the process. I'm a creative person, but words are usually my go-to "medium".) My question is: why? ATCs and art Journaling-- even Bible journaling - what is the point? With words, I'm telling a story. With card making, I'm sending love and encouragement. How does this form of art . . . make you happy? Is that what I'm trying to say? I'll probably delete this but thanks. Your work is beautiful. ❤️

    • @SandyAllnock1
      @SandyAllnock1  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Art needn’t have a “use” to be worth doing.
      Journaling helps me process thoughts, both while creating and more literally as I add journaled text. ATCs are something to share with other artists-I can see another’s work and get inspired, and send my creativity to another soul who also loves art.
