- Hey Guys, welcome back to my channel... and back to summer! In this vlog I attempt to help my Dad make the last field of haylage. I would say more telling off than actual help but you'll see all that in the video.

General rule of thumb with dads: the quieter he gets, the better you are doing😂 well done emily, i really enjoyed that. I always find it so interesting to see how hay/haylage gets made. Takes a lot of skill and experience
You definitely beat Esme, she had a satellite guided tractor. Never heard the term dramming it before, we call it rowing up where I am (Somerset) Nice to see something different and loved your Dad

You have a very talented daughter, I didn’t understand anything that she was talking about, but I think that she moved the big tractor around in a very professional manner. This is so lovely seeing you working with your Dad - all sounds simple in theory but what a lot of skill is takes in practice! I thought you handled the tractor really well and makes me want a go!! You're Dad seems a character - lovely to see him. And I'm a fan of the wrapper!! ☺️ Would've been cool to have seen you open a fresh bale at the end just to show it being fed now - bet it's a lovely crop

Emily! One of my favorite vlogs ever. So many thoughts…you are a proud daughter from a hard working farming family, LOVE the drone shots…epic! I’m was a crop and soil environmental science major in college in the US and love farming equipment and processes, and lastly our son at a very early age referred to any field full of hay bales as a “herd of hay” so there’s a link back to horses. Ha! So thankful for this vlog. Will watch it again later today. Very entertaining.
I loved seeing the process of how it is actually done. It was very nice to see both of you together. I would love to see more about what it takes to run and do on the farm. Please if possible please can you make some more videos about the what it takes to run and care for the animals. One of the best videos I have seen on hay making. I watched this last night with my boyfriend who actually drives tractors for a living and we both really enjoyed it, we’d both love to see more farm stuff on your channel as it’s interesting and something different too. I love having a shot of my boyfriends tractors trying out different jobs although I’ve never done silage as it’s such a big operation with contractors coming in and they work non stop for three days as they have so much land to do wheee my boyfriend works but I love sitting with him at silage time. I’ve had a go at slurry and fertiliser though
It will be a nice memory daughter and father. So nice to do something together.
I LOVE the bale wrapper! It reminds me of when we got a pallet wrapper at work and I would take any chance I got to get out of my office and go to the warehouse to watch it in action! It was so great seeing how haylage is made!
Loved this, brings back lots of memories of my childhood and helping my Grandad on his farm. We also call it rowing up not dramming and I am in Leicestershire.
Just watched with my 6 year old daughter who loved it. Your dad looked like he was living the dream. Definitley deserves a few Rattlers for that. Drone fottage was ace.
Such special memories to have of your dad! My family has a cattle farm and we bale our own hay as well. The last few years we have been doing a lot more haylage than just regular square or round bales and it is such a cool process. Your dad reminds me a lot of my dad. I think it is a farmer thing. A man of few words, but very wise when he does speak. Also, you are way better and braver with the tractor than I will ever be!
Emily your dad was so funny in this vlog telling you off lol. Like you said it will be good to look back on in years to come. It would be fun to see you doing it again next year with your dad. x
Aww, bless your Dad being in a vlog despite being a touch uncomfortable in front of the camera. You did well in the tractor (way better than I did the first time I drove one lol) & moving the bales looked like a fun job- almost a bit like farm style bumper cars 😜
Absolutely loved this it was so interesting to learn how hayledge is made, and seeing your relationship with your dad was funny and sweet to watch. Really.entertaining Em, would love a series of Dunstans farm xx
Oh that was hilarious ! Poor dad was a good sport to take time out if his busy day. A couple of face wipes and he kept it together beautifully 🤣

Learning to drive with Dad, giving me anxious flashbacks haha!! I've guess learning to drive with my mum was worse though! White knuckles on the dash lol!!

It was so cool seeing how it all gets done. I don't think many people think about the work that goes into it ha. Yr dad's lovely and it's lovely to have those memories. Other jobs around the farm would be good to see too. A working farm must have loads u can get Yr hands dirty with lol. Great vlog xx

Loved this! Interesting how we have different terms for stuff. We call turning the hay tedding here and rowing up is our term for dramming. I refused to drive the tractors on my boyfriend's farm for years then last year I was bored during lockdown and thought 'Why not'. I harrow and roll all our grass fields now ha, very therapeutic!

I have only just caught up with this. 😃We always used to get a contractor to make small bale hay for us and then we had to pick them up by hand and stack them in the barn. We made over 600 one year! I am relieved that we don’t make it ourselves any more... it’s inevitably the hottest time of the year and it’s exhausting. 🤣 This was fab though! 😍
Well done Emily, this was really interesting. Your dad was a great sport to let you help, although I’m sure he was glad of the company. The wrapping was amazing to watch. I’m sure the ponies and cows will enjoy their haylege that much more knowing it was made with extra love and care. Thanks Em x

That looked like fun. I always wished I had been born on a farm. I was impressed you and your Dad did not come to blows unlike when my Dad (a police driver) tried teaching me to drive and I exited the car and walked home!
Good job it’s you not Meg she would have been throwing in a circle before every row lol and as for Tina well can you imagine the chat between her and your dad, he would have been out of that tractor in a flash x

Loved this, very interesting! The beginning reminds me of my Dad trying to teach me to drive, although we only made it one drive because there was too much telling off 😂

Enjoyed this so much I keep my pony up the road from my house on a farm where she only lives with 4 other ponies but there are around a hundred cows and same amount of sheep n also big fields used to make hay! Even though I see it happening it’s so interesting to watch the process properly xx
LOVED this vlog, it is so interesting to see things like this done - you should definitely do more of these, does your dad make Silage too? I've worked on a dairy farm, and I am (to this day) scared of fresians - it's their boneiness (if that makes sense) - but definitely do more. And I love your dad, he's exactly like mine, knows how everything is 'meant' to be done! Mine is a mechanic though, so slightly different! BUT one thing to tell him, you must have a HUGE younger demographic, and how cool would it be if watching vlogs on how a farm like yours works inspires just ONE person to go into farming? (as difficult as it can be)

- Please tell me this bad luck, relating to horses names - we ALWAYS change the horses names when they come to the RDA! Should I be having a wee word with the boss, 'maybe this is why this horse hasn't worked out...'

This was fun to watch! We bale our own hay every year as well. I don't think haylage is as popular in the US, we mostly use dry hay for our horses here.
