      They are so impossible good, very good that woman, but a littlebit strange and a littlebit a freakshow, LOL, but beside that very good, the improvisation or that jazz parts of all the members are good.

    I am gobsmacked by this whole family of musical geniuses. Max is amazing on clarinet, sax and violin. Gerd is incredible on trombone, sax, and piano. Ulf rocks out on the drums, vocals, and trumpet. And what cannot Gunhild play? She plays trumpet, trombone, recorder, harp, blues harp, and bagpipes as a virtuoso. Plus she plays piano, bass, drums, flute, sax. And she sings and taps. Plus her energy is 11 out of 10.

    • @calbackk
      @calbackk 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Actually I never saw Gunhild play sax. But I do believe you. Do you by any chance have link?

      Have you seen Gunhild play 3 Trumpets at once....... or, Trumpet and Bass, with no hands on the Trumpet while she leans her head back and balances the Trumpet upside down...... yeah, I'm not kiddin'!!!

    All those who have written comments on how the title is Yiddish and not German, would you also write the same comments on all the other TH-cam versions of the song. I get tired being the only one explaining that.

      Yiddish comes from German.😂

    • @lindaharris6143

      I don't know Yiddish, but I know some German, and that's German.

    • @aresee8208
      @aresee8208 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@lindaharris6143 The lyrics of this song were originally written in ALL Yiddish by Jewish American songwriter Jacob Jacobs. Yiddish is written using Hebrew letters. So, the title of the song is actually: בײַ מיר ביסטו שעהן,
      When Jewish American songwriters Sammy Cahn and Saul Chaplin wrote new English lyrics for the song they kept the original Yiddish title. When the Andrews Sisters recorded it for Decca Records, and someone at Decca transliterated the title into Latin letters, Decca decided to use German orthography. That's why the title looks German. But it is most definitely Yiddish.
      Below is a link to a version of the song in both the original all-Yiddish and subsequent English lyrics. The first line of both is Yiddish (and only Yiddish).

      @pugandblizzard 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yiddish is a German dialect, of which there are very many. These are not like American accent variations, they usually vary radically from standard German. The song was originally written for a 1932 Yiddish musical (There‘s a Wiki entry for this song). What they’re performing here is probably based on the Andrew Sisters’s later version, which basically moved the song toward standard German (Hochdeutsch).

    • @aresee8208
      @aresee8208 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pugandblizzard No, it did not move anywhere. Songwriters Sammy Cahn and Saul Chapman wrote new English lyrics but left the original Yiddish title. The title of the English version is typically, but not always, written in Latin letters using German orthography, but it is still Yiddish - and is pronounced like Yiddish - because it is Yiddish. Here is a version sung in both original Yiddish and later English versions. The words in the title of both versions are pronounced exactly the same - because they're both Yiddish. (And Yiddish is a separate language from German, not a dialect. Look it up.)

      @Dragomir Ronilac I only found out through another helpful man that you offered your help half-a-year ago. Here's my answer: Thanks a lot, Dragomir. The jiddish shein is in my opinion just a brother word of "schein" in German dialects, which is an offspring of High German schön. Please note: (sch....)! Kind regards. Herbert.

      It's not a German song. It is an an American standard. It was written in 1932 by two Jewish American songwriers, Shalom Secunda and Jacob Jacobs with lyrics in Yiddish. In 1937, two other Jewish American songwriters, Sammy Cahn and Saul Chaplin, wrote English lyrics for the song, but left the title in Yiddish. The song was popular in Germany until the Nazis realized it was written by Jews. So the banned it. 🤷🏻‍♂️
