The Lipstick Recipes :
Sheer, glossy lipstick - 1 Crayon + 1/2 tsp Coconut Oil + 1/2 tsp Vaseline
Opaque lipstick - 2 Crayons + 1/2 tsp Coconut Oil
((A dash of natural flavor is option for either recipe. I tried Vanilla Extract, Raspberry & Peppermint.))
If you don't have coconut oil you can just use Vaseline (and vice versa).

Hi everyone! I see a lot of you are saying that you don't have coconut oil. That's okay! You can just use vaseline & it will still turn out. (So, instead of 1/2 tsp coconut oil & 1/2 tsp vaseline for the more sheer lipstick, use 1 tsp of vaseline. And, for the more opaque lipstick, use 2 crayons with 1/2 tsp of vaseline.) The key is to add something oily to the crayon wax - you can use shea butter or other types of natural oil as well.
Don't worry too much about messing up! But, if you're nervous about it experiment with your least favorite colors first. The recipes are open to tweaking - to change the pigment value & smoothness. Plus, certain crayon colors might work better than others in general.
Also, keep in mind that this crayon lipstick is more natural than most of the drug store lip products. Crayola crayons are non-toxic - made from paraffin wax and non-toxic pigments. If you use lipstick from the store you shouldn't be afraid to use this.

this is a quick way to get all the things that you need in her video
1. crayons (duh)
2. coconut oil
3. vaseline (or petroleum jelly)
4. water
5. a pan
6. a small jar
7. a container to hold the lip gloss in the end!

First time watching(now new subscriber)... came over from cupcakes and cardio. Love the first purple gloss color. FYI: You may want to try experimenting with clear vanilla for flavoring. I know in cake decorating, with lighter colors of frosting, the regular vanilla can mute your colors. Using clear may make your gloss colors even more bright/vibrant as well. Can't hurt to see if it makes a difference.

You can use just vaseline. Or you could use Shea Butter (which I haven't tried). The key is to use something oily in addition to the crayon wax.

Manasesli Zapata If you want a more glossy / sheer lipstick use 1 tsp of the vaseline (so it makes up for the coconut oil). If you want a more opaque & pigmented lipstick, use 2 crayons and only 1/2 tsp of vaseline - this recipe can be adjusted to your liking if you don't think it's "greasy" enough.
SoCraftastic I did Vaseline mixed with a little bit of olive oil. It turned out GREAT!

Sometimes children do strange things, and eating crayons is one of them. With the back-to-school season here, many parents may wonder about conventional crayons: Are they safe?
As part of its Toxic Free Kids initiative, the Children’s Cancer Recovery Foundation (CCRF) urges parents to consider both conventional crayons and alternative options. Crayons contain two elements: wax and pigment. Eating a small bit of crayon is generally harmless, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), but can become dangerous in large quantities if the indigestible wax creates an intestinal blockage. Eating crayons can also present a choking hazard.
Most crayons sold in the United States are certified non-toxic for children. In 1994, the federal government issued a recall for crayons made in China that were found to contain lead, and in 2000, two brands of crayons were found to contain what the federal government called “scientifically insignificant” amounts of asbestos. The possible danger in both of these cases is only present if a child eats a large number of crayons.
Currently, the Federal Hazardous Substances Act (FHSA) bans lead as an ingredient for any children’s product, including crayons. Crayola, the most largely recognized crayon brand in the United States, certifies all its products as non-toxic. If you still want to play it safe, however, there are plenty of “all natural” options to choose from. These crayons are generally made of beeswax or soy. Here are some places to buy “all natural” crayons:

***** it would work Yes you could cause vaseline is mainly for anything and it is safe for you lips and if your going to use Vaseline you going to need 1/2 tbls so it would work and you need to melt the crayons and if you cant use the stove put it in the microwave but dont put plastic in the microwave

briana mendoza Yes! :) Crayola crayons are safe. They are made from paraffin wax & non-toxic pigments. If you use another crayon brand make sure the box says "non-toxic". Crayon Lipstick is more natural than many drug store lip products, because there are no preservatives involved.

She probably was using hot water when washing out the containers... Also, you should always wear gloves while washing something out, especially when using dish soap

The Crayola company does not recommend them to make eyeliner, lipstick or other makeup.

Phương Linh They legally have to say that, because their products have not been tested for makeup purposes. However, actual makeup that has been approved to be sold can have more chemicals & non-natural products than non-toxic crayons. So, I'd rather use crayons (even though I do use actual makeup usually).

You are supposed to do it on a stove not in a microwave
