    This reminded me so much of something I saw a while back. A feminist who works to change laws in India to help women was part of a panel on male on female violence and she said something that really struck me. She said we teach our boys not to feel and if they can't even feel their own emotions, how can we expect them to feel empathy for anyone else? She cited this as a major cause of violence and said that if we change the way we raise our boys, if we stop shaming them for having and acknowledging feelings, we'll go a long way towards ending violence because then those (unacknowledged and ignored) emotions will be less likely to turn into anger/rage.
    To me, your discussion seemed very in line with that debate. Thank you for the insight!

      Did she mention how some women use our emotions against us during arguments about some topic which is completely unrelated? How certain women argue or how they behave also leads to violence. Every asskicking doesn't just fall out of sky

    So glad to hear people taking about it! Our society needs to realize that feeling is not a shameful thing, it's in fact insightful and wise and courageous. I see it as a sign of maturity when a man owns his emotions instead of suppressing and denying them. Thank you.

    lol I *love* sitting alone by myself- what a wonderful rest! Maybe this explains submissive men, because they choose consistent pain to alleviate their inner pain.

  • @TalkEssence
    @TalkEssence 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Nothing much that can be done if a man doesnt see the need to feel, respond, or desire resolve... Some men simply remain quiet, unresponsive and cold. Its better to them then obligating their emotions selflessly to others - seems way to risky for them. So is this bad if they function well socially with others?

    • @buzoqt.v1571
      @buzoqt.v1571 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bet 💸 u dont want a men wit emotions, ull c him as if he were feminine.

    • @TalkEssence
      @TalkEssence 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@buzoqt.v1571 this is foolishness in the female that thinks that way. In part, the culture - watching how men interact with each other - has influenced that type of thinking in women. Men tell each other, you talk to much, shut up, stop crying like a b+×+× and man up... So some women think its something feminine then if a man does otherwise. Sadly we did learn in part from the men

    • @TalkEssence
      @TalkEssence 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @shaka mata _ African pride men are not all the same. I have male friends who know how to communicate very maturely and thoroughly. Then I no some men who only communicate that only their opinion matters and is truth. Others They dont talk to the point where they feel they simply dont have to. You can say, how are you? And they say nothing. You ask, do you want something to eat? They say nothing and act like you arent even there. Ive seen various types of personalities in men. But that last example I gave stumps me. Anyway, thanks for responding🙏

    • @siradmin6791

      I can function well socially. While hiding my emotions and bottling them up. But it isn't healthy in the slightest.
      Also the reason men hide their emotions are because theu are told they are weak for showing emotions and are told to man up.

    I learned to not express my emotions from the reactions of women.
    Also male brains process emotions in the amygdala and as such have difficulty articulating them when compared to women.

    Hi, Folks.
    Interesting talk with some interesting ideas.
    One thing did kinda jump out at me - that most men would choose electric shocks over sitting with themselves for an hour. Cain't say itza 'kwestyun' that I've asked a lotta men but I know I would have NO problem sitting with myself for an hour - do it a lot anyway - - - AND LIKE it..
    Just my 0.02.
    You all have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant,
