Yeah, it's true the Stones version is fantastic but can't compare with the original one from Slim Harpo. Have you heard it? it's a REAL African hipnotic beat man!
I think the Stones would agree and were *celebrating* Slim Harpo. The idea that anybody thought the Stones came up with the song would have seemed ridiculous to them in 1970.
Are you out of your mind??? Watt's fantastic stick work, Richards and Taylor's overlapping fretwork, Jagger's immortal howl -you simply have no musical taste.
The Stones paid tribute by covering it, adding their own slant, and getting it some airplay, and getting Slim Harpo some mention in new circles. It seems beyond doubt that the Stones idolized the blues guys. And still do.
My favorite musician covering my favorite blues song = WIN!
Pj IS SO SO CUTE
i'm in love
❤❤❤
This is a Slim Harpo song, not a Rolling Stones song - the Stones just covered it.
Yes. Encore cover of Slim Harpo song, “Shake Your Hips” performed at the Royal Court Theatre in London, 2004
Duh
PJ should cover War Pigs. She's got the soul for it.

Th' Legendary Shack Shakers do a killer version and Lou Anne Barton, too.

atlatzin. Stones version a bit boring and répétitive. Better try Love Sculpture version !
Shake your Hips
Stones improved on it.
His is kind of drugged and slow- the Stones give the song life.
exile on main street the best 111
kare. Best are Slim Harpo and Love Sculpture.
His version too slow
