Super great video Alex!! Those were some really nice catches with ifish! And the pole seemed to work pretty good. Thank you for always keeping it realistic.
I have the Shakespeare micro that I_fish was recommending at the end of this video. Bought it for trout, but find myself taking it on bass trips for BG’s and perch. Great rod, glad I listened to him. Great video.
I almost bought a $13 Shimano reel a bunch of years ago to try out. Even the El cheapo Shimano reels were still better than the other cheap reels. I think they overbuilt them to get you hooked.
I heard some years ago from a guy that he'd use 6lb test when Muskie fishing. Personally, i like MedHeavy(25-30) and Light(10) on 2 different poles. Both UglyStiks, one 8ft and one 5ft. Never caught a Muskie though, but the 25lb holds up to Snapping Turtles well, and the 10lb is still really sensitive. I use SpiderWire Green Moss. Great video and excellent collaboration!
I love ultralight fishing. I keep saying I'll do a year challenge where all I use is an ultralight. However, some are super-floppy. I either use the Berkley Lightning 8' ultralight or a light power rod. There doesn't seem to be a lot of options out there for light power, though.
Alex don't hurt me but for what its worth..my favorite combo is 7 foot medium light st croix decent Shimano reel 6lb trilene xl..1/8 jig head with your favorite plastic of choice..hear me now believe me later👍goodluck my friends and save me few
I have been using Shimano FX rods and reels for years. I have 2 FX 4000 Reels that are about 29 years old. O have a FX ultra light setup for 5 years now. For the price you can't beat them.
@RealisticFishing I don't mind it for the smaller species but when I use an ultra light for heavier species I prefer a stiffer rod. But I love ultra light fishing. I also had the older rods which were probably not as floppy as the newer ones made now.
I'd like to get a couple of new reels but I bought good reels 25 years ago and take care of them. Don't throw them around of lay them in the sand. Still almost like new. I do love the zero reverse bail though. My older ones have like a 8th of a turn back when you set the hook without holding the cup
@RealisticFishing one on a snag. Even trying the method I learned from you. Still snapped pole. Once the bail got wore out and became loose. Now I got me a 40 dollar one. Learned my lesson
Saw Alex do some proper twitching today! Slowly converting him to the Ultralight side : )
I ordered some Powerbait Minnows to try out 👍
maybe in the powerbait version the scent is in the body not in the juice, and stays longer..
All those kids catching fish and sending them in to you is awesome. They always put a smile on my face.
Love me an ultralight rod. Even smaller fish feel like beasts if they have the fight in 'em. Keep on keepin' it realistic.
KIR!
I was looking forward for this, every time this two get together the result is a very entertaining and informative video.
LOVE catching those Yellow Bass!!! Wooooooo weeeeeeeeeee!!! Can't wait to catch those when they run up the local creek close to me this spring!!!!
Looks like you had a pretty good day Alex. Can’t wait for part two. Man I really enjoy the fight of a fish on an ultra light rod and reel.
Gotta love an UL rod with 4lb test to add to the fight dynamics, even on the little guys.
Glad to see the collab with iFish, great video my brother! Thanks for keeping it realistic!!
I'm on the fence with Ultralight rods for myself but I like how they look when you get a fish on. Part 2 should be great. KiR!!!
Great fishing session with the new ultralight setup! Cheers man!
🍺
Super great video Alex!! Those were some really nice catches with ifish! And the pole seemed to work pretty good. Thank you for always keeping it realistic.
I LOVE THE WAY THE SMALLER FISH MAKE THE ROD BEND AS IF YOU CAUGHT A MONSTER .

Ah love a good old fashioned cliffhanger, Alex!
😅
Good video Alex 🤛

Finally found You again going on my third year I've learned a lot watching your videos great video keep it realistic😊
Welcome back kimm!
Another great realistic adventure Alex! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Thank you!
Ever since I got a Shakespeare ugly stik for Christmas one year I have never looked back I truly believe it's the best bang for your buck!
Another good cheapo for sure 👍
Sounds like a fun time fishing KIR 🍻

I love ultralight fishing. 6# test line fighting bass and crappie it really makes it fun

Sup Alex, my grandson bought with his own money, and I cought some bluegill, tremendous difference, catching panfish on ultralight is a game changer.
Awesome video
Enjoyed part 1 and looking forward to part 2 where i assume we'll see your dinner catch 🎣🙂
Really nice action on that combo. Proves you do not need to spend a fortune on gear. It's more down to angling ability. KIR
You got that right 👍
Great video Alex!
Thanks!
Two pound line lasted all of 5 minutes for me today. Its no good in a rocky river.
Bonus for the RC cola
That rod would be great for crank, baits, jerk, baits, soft, jerk, baits
Alex don't hurt me but for what its worth..my favorite combo is 7 foot medium light st croix decent Shimano reel 6lb trilene xl..1/8 jig head with your favorite plastic of choice..hear me now believe me later👍goodluck my friends and save me few
Feel free to have whatever favorite you want 😅

Do you like the floppy rod on that ultra-light?
@RealisticFishing I don't mind it for the smaller species but when I use an ultra light for heavier species I prefer a stiffer rod. But I love ultra light fishing. I also had the older rods which were probably not as floppy as the newer ones made now.
Looks cold but looks like the new Shimano did ok!
🥉 It was pretty cold
Welp, guess Realistic and the reel did ok. Hard to fish with a wet noodle.
Excellent video. I wouldn't say I like it when I buy a preloaded reel because of what you experienced.
nice catches Alex, been very cold here and i'd rather watch from a warm house than freeze and get possibly skunked lol.KIR
Keep it up Alex love your videos
Thanks for watching Sam 👍
Hope part 2 is better, love to see some white bass. 👍
Part one was alright though... 😅
@RealisticFishing Yeah, I need a boat so I can at least fish somewhere where fish are.
Urtra light fishing is fun
Awesome awesome video 🙏🏻 ❤
Thanks RR 👍
That is a noodle of a rod for sure! But I have 2 of those reels and they work great for the price point.
Good video, Alex. Might be telling my age but, who was drinking that RC Cola? I drank that a lot as a kid!
That was Me and My RC
Wait, you’re fishing with i_fish, that’s awesome
Thats him!
Ultra light are the best ,even small fish feels big ehe keep it realistic.......
Glad you two got on the water again, have to let us know if you decided to return your setup for one with a faster tip. Hand warmer🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I like the reel, so I might slap it on a new rod
@ so many deal out there now! Have fun!

I tend to get tired of the same thing after 25 years
Fun fishing. Looking forward to part two. Thanks Alex
👍 Thanks for watching Mike

I break these 30 dollar pricepoint ultralights pretty easy.
Must be some MONSTER Bluegills!
@RealisticFishing one on a snag. Even trying the method I learned from you. Still snapped pole.
Once the bail got wore out and became loose.
Now I got me a 40 dollar one. Learned my lesson
👍🏻😎
I hope that the kid submissions are parentally monitored…
Who else would be holding the camera?
Only one fish ? Not much of a appetite. Wife don't eat fish ? Oops I assumed your married LOL
It was two fish that I kept. I caught one, and i-fish caught one just like I said as I showed them to the camera
Dude talks too much. I fish with my friend and we literally just enjoy the silence of fishing.
Might as well go alone then right? He is talking to his own camera because he makes videos too.
