The main ecological problem stems from *overpopulation* as there are simply too many humans on this planet. A massive population load that has a huge swath of ignorance and selfishness that maligns every facet of Earth's existence and every other life-form on it. Until strict measures are incorporated to control birth rates (from major Western countries to third world disasters), everything done to help the environment will just amount to splashing water on a raging fire. This should not be taken as do not try to what you can to help the environment. The latter buys some time, but will not be a long-term solution if the human population is not brought down to sustainable levels.

Also alleviating the suffering of other living creatures is still nice, even on a sinking ship

you are so right, i wonder how the billions of people who are homeless and don't have enough to eat, losing their kids to war and famine are treating their animals

I say if you have the access and privilege go vegan. Scientifically plant based diets are better. The problem is, is Bacon, eggs and steak are sewn into every Americans telomeres that it's hard to show people that vegan is healthier. Animal slaughter is horrific. Support the A.L.F.

Love your channel FOOD FOOD FOOD!! Who's right There is no room left for animals we need the land to grow food, clear the forests to build houses expand our cities the only reason chickens and beef is not extinct is because we eat them. Zoe is at just as much fault as the rest of us at destroying the planet, My point is all animals are being treated the same way we treat humans................ THE HUMANE WAY................. Love you all have a great day

Most of the crops we grow globally are for livestock. We could free up 40% or more of the agricultural land if we ate beans instead of meat as a form of protein. Beans also fix nitrogen in soil and can be stored indefinitely dry. 70% of the soybeans grown in the USA goes to livestock which are then turned into meat. We are trading one edible form of protein to get another instead of just eating plants. Only 7% of the worlds soy is eaten by humans even though it is full of nutrients and protein. No need to cry at every meal just go vegan and limit the amount of cruelty on your plate. The main cause of deforestation is to grow crops since the humic acid and compost on the forest floor is nutrient dense. Most of the Amazon deforestation is for livestock fodder. I would argue the humane thing is NOT killing sentient beings who have a nervous system and can communicate with us their desire to survive.

@@HomelessRomantic 🥲I'm sheding a tear for the plants i grow as well as the chickens The main cause of deforestation is lumber and paper, I would consider going vegan except my body reacts to all the chemicals used to grow and perserve food including meat i can't even drink treared water it gives me heart burn i'm 70 and in perfect health And all my life 70 to 80% of my diet is meat i grow or wild game, I don't have the heart to kill any animal myself anymore even feel sorry for fish😊 so i understand the vegan thing, for the last 30 to 40 years i would go hunting without a gun and only hunted with people that hate killing animals and would give thanks to mother nature or the creator or what ever your belief is, I could help with the processing but not the kill I live in Canada in the forest with the wildlife and love and understand them i even raise extra chickens for the predators to take i share with them they share with me, you know kind of like the way the world is supposed to be, the real reason i cry is because i'm human

      WRONG WRONG WRONG....
The main cause of deforestation is agriculture, particularly the expansion of agricultural land. This activity accounts for a significant portion of deforestation rates globally, with practices like clearing vast areas of forests for farming, logging, and fuelwood use being primary contributors to deforestation[2][3][5]. Agriculture, both for subsistence farming and commercial purposes, leads to the clearing of large forested areas to create space for food production and cash crops like soy, palm oil, and beef[3][4][5]. The demand for agricultural land driven by population growth and economic activities results in the loss of forests at an alarming rate, impacting biodiversity, climate change, and ecosystem services provided by forests[3][4][5].
