    Can I use this motherboard for Ryzen 5 3600? And is it plug n play? Or I should update the Bios first with Chipset Ryzen gen 2?

    • @TechLegend-com

      It is compatible with the Ryzen 5 3600, however you need the Bios version 2.10. I do not know the exact version the motherboard comes with, some newer batches, might come with the updated Bios. It doesn't hurt to ask before buying. :)

    The problem with this is the limited QVL Memory Support. It's hard to buy the compatible memory to maximize the 3200mhz. Is the QVL list accurate?

    Hardly anyone on the internet talks about the ALC897 inside this thing, the internet has pretty much established that ALC887 and ALC892 are basically the same except for 892 having 10 channels instead of 8 for I'm guessing stereo quality??? Not much is known about the 897 part. I noticed plenty of boards from Asrock have it so I wanna know 887/892 vs 892/897. Also why do motherboards often come with 2 ALC codecs 1 newer and 1 older?

    • @TechLegend-com
      @TechLegend-com  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually, they come with two codecs for backwards compatibility purposes. That is, if i'm not mistaken.

    • @HedgehogY2K
      @HedgehogY2K 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TechLegend-com Ok, what about the barely known 897? How different is it to the pretty much the same 887/892 codecs? There was 1 forum I read in the internet about 1 guy saying 887 was terrible and 897 was somewhat tolerable, which I'm guessing he's an audiophile to be able to tell issues from fairly ok codecs.

    • @TechLegend-com
      @TechLegend-com  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HedgehogY2K You have to look at this in jumps, for example, these codecs are basic. The run of the mill instruments on most motherboards, especially since many people use USB headsets which completely ruin the audio quality. Usually, the higher quality codecs are followed by higher spec. capacitors and also gold plated ports, plus additional filtering on the PCB.

    • @TechLegend-com
      @TechLegend-com  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The VRM ok for such a budget motherboard. The thing to keep in mind is the VRM cooling, you need proper airflow inside the system, especially if you want to overclock the CPU.

    • @OptimuSekac
      @OptimuSekac 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      i think that 8 core R7 1700X is pushing those temps. A 6 core with less power consumption such as R5 3600 with a decent airflow would be fine for VRM. Correct me if i'm wrong.

    • @TechLegend-com
      @TechLegend-com  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The VRM not "vram" that's something else😊. Anyway, the VRM stands for voltage regulator module and basically, these components control the voltage for the CPU. A good VRM will keep a constant voltage to your CPU and thus, improve the overclocking potential for that CPU. Also, good VRM components will be more efficient and have less current be wasted into heat, thus (again), your motherboard will have a lower temperature around the CPU socket. I hope this make sense!
      As for what to get, if you can get the MSI B450M Mortar Max, if not, the Steel Legend will work just fine with your CPU.

      @@TechLegend-com ... I am facing an unusual issue. i have R5 1600 processor , Corsair Vengeance 3000Mhz (2*8GB) RAM kit but my RAM sticks are running only on 2133MHz instead of 3000MHz. Turning on XMP from bios is not helping me out and RAM sticks are working only on 2133Mhz which is stock. Tried with Crucial Ballistix sport (2*8GB ) 3200MHz and Hyperx (2*8GB) memory KIT 3200MHz separately but same issue. I have also tried to manually set 2666MHz but same issue, they are running at stock frequency 2400MHz. Also i tried to downclock the RAM frequency but again same issue... I noticed that every time when i change the RAM XMP settings, windows boots with the XMP memory settings but every time if i shut down the PC completely then after the 1st boot the bios gets reset automatically and the settings gets into default. Also the other settings like Date and time and Fast boot option also get changed. Updated the bios but same issue. I tried with a new CMOS battery but same issue.
