0:28 looks like a different kind of strumming to me

I can't express how grateful I am. I had never been able to strum this fast. Your advice helped me break my barrier. Thank you so much. 🙏🙏

Thank you. I was trying to play along with Phil Wickham playing "Your Love Awakens" and I could not keep up with his strumming speed (without cheating), and so I hadda know what I was not doing that I should be doing.

Dude, I clicked on this video too because I’m trying to learn how Phil Wickham strums so quick in between passing chords 😂

How much of the pick is sticking out from the fingers, how loose/tight are you holding it and what is the best angle to approach the strings in or to glide over the strings like that?

Nice video. I teach my students to play from the wrist all the time, even when playing slow. You only need ro cover the very small space where you hit the strings. The wrist is perfectly capable for that, so why would you use your arm as a bigger, less precise tool for that?

Thanks for the kind comment. I think the motor memory just gets stuck in "This is what I've always done!" mode concerning the big swinging strum arm I often witness. The wrist is very under-rated. Cheers brother.

great video and practice advise! If the camera would film from the saddle that would also be helpful, and elaborating on pick grip and angles/slant a bit
