hey guys, you can only hold 3 disks at a time under rule SG7. i saw you guys were stacking like 5 of them on your robot, so i just wanted to make sure that you all knew about this
Best intake and flywheel. Better than our robot, though got the same function. Except that u could use 4 red motor and 5:1 gear ratio for 500RPM drivetrain speed.
I'm doing the high school-level VEX competition, and now that my team has earned a spot in the States competition, videos like this are very inspiring! Thank you for posting, I think your robot is a good frame of reference to get my team a shot at winning States! But there are many, MANY things here that we don't have. Most importantly, do high school-level teams have access to 3000 RPM motors?
Thanks for watching! Much of what is done with this robot can be done with other components. We've been lucky that this robot has performed well for us this season. Regarding 3000 RPM, it is derived from using a 600RPM (Blue Cartridge) Motor with a compound gear ratio of 5:1 where the motor is connected to a 60T gear driving a 12T gear that is connected to the Flywheel. Best of luck at your State Event!
@@team1469a Oh wow, even with our measly 2 600-RPM motors, we could set the 3000-RPM flywheel up, thanks! All we'd need is to attach the 12T to an axle with the wheel we want to serve as the flywheel. I'm beginning to think the hard part will actually be the intake... is that how it was for you?
The size constants I’m trying to do the same thing and just placing stuff around 18 in” isn’t a lot of room and some concerns I have is trying to get them right next to a wall the xdrive you won’t be able to make a funnel sort of thing to Guide them to the middle of the robot to intake because the wheels are on the corners are some thoughts I’ve had trying to rough plan
The hardest part was making sure to get the proper roller spacing and alignment for the handoff between the front and the back. The front intake works great at pick but needed something to make sure it didn't just transfer it straight out the back. The back intake has needed a lot of work and we just finished another modification last night. Both sides work against one another to ensure the right amount of compression to move the disc along the path
While we don't have funnels like some teams are doing we do have guide points to get the disc to align into the intake opening which can be seen in redirecting in the video around 0:37 from the top view. As long as the opening is just wide enough to intake the disc, say 6", it should be fine. If I am not mistaken, 2654P has an X-Drive with a double sided intake, at least it appears that way in their early season reveal
@@braydensmith6069 We have double intakes plus turret and odom. You can actually use the end of some of the wheel assemblies as funnels as shown in our reveal.
If you are talking about the fly wheel being a little bit lower than the exit point of where the discs come out when looking at it head on, the tilt wasn't noticed till after we did our filming. If that isn't what you mean let us know
love the intake
I am torn between finishing an old bot and starting a new one after seeing this beauty.
this is why the flex wheels are out of stock, my man singlehandedly bought the entire stock
the intake is really good I love it!
I love refrigerators too

Just to show off lmao
Looks amazing, good luck to you on the upcoming season.
Thanks! Gonna miss you guys this season.
@@team1469a We will definitely come to some tournaments to check out the bot and say hi.
Nice reveal, rip possession limit
You should make fridge magnets to give out instead of stickers
great reveal, as usual!
Thanks!
Back to the drawing board I guess 😂
Fascinating design! What is the gold part you're using to attach the standoffs to the flex wheels?
Those are custom polycarbonate washers.
@@team1469a That's awesome
nice intake

Just wondering do you get your plastic from field elements of last years game, or do you buy them somewhere else? Also that is an amazing bot!
The polycarb are flags from Turning Point. We like to reuse/recycle where we can, especially when prototyping.
Was the last guy your sponsor?
No, but we wish
I can’t tell if this comment is serious or not but I love refrigerators!
@@gigittygigitty4495 nah, refrigerator gay be everywhere on tiktok

where can i get pics of your intake? Thanks
In our Engineering Notebook. We are still optimizing our intake system, but could considering doing a video just on that at some point.
Love the intake, I was thinking about putting one on an X-Drive, What was the hardest part?

One question, this straight flex wheels are from vex pro, we can use them in vex high?
The flex wheels are listed as VRC, VEX U, VAIC legal on the VEX site.
How tall is your shooter from the ground
The exit point of the shooter is 13.5 in or 34.29 cm from the ground
How do you get the front intake to get it up there
With flex wheel, a lot of flex wheels
Damn you guys are good
No expansion mech?
We are deciding between a couple different options or maybe both
do you ever have an issue with running out of air with the pneumatic indexer?
Not unless the driver forgets to refill the air otherwise it works fine.
Double intake awesome
What’s with the 4 standoffs on the roller flex wheels?
The ones in between the Flex Wheels are for spacing and we ran out of VersaHubs
@@team1469a gotcha, thanks
we have prroblems of picking up the disc from the ground, is yours just a curved abs plate?
We have been using a flat aluminum plate for now
i wish we could afford fex wheels lol. We get 2 3 inch no inserts per team.
dual intake pog
why arent you guys going to mall?
I start the next phase of my prison sentence, aka school, that week
I love refrigerators
R u using 30a for intake?
Yes
This flywheel is a little bit inclined for any reason or was how it was built.

how much does it weigh?
more than a walnut but less than a refrigerator, tbh idk
is this viable for middle school?
It could be. One of our MS teams is thinking of doing something similar but with tank tread intakes instead.
why is this from july
sustin aus
Theres a carrying limit tho...
Yes, three discs.
Hi Leboo
love the intake
