  • As far as he can remember, 10-year-old Pecos Tatum wanted to be a cowboy. His parents, who come from a long line of rodeo cowboys and cowgirls, are guiding him every step of the way. But it's a way of life that is quickly disappearing. Follow a family as they fight to remain cowboys.

    Gonna sound weird but i was trying to find some information on Pecos and what he’s been up to and i found out that he’s still rodeoing and getting buckle after buckle. Parents are still his #1 supporters (that i’ve been seeing). This boy lives and breathes the western lifestyle of a cowboy. He’s doing great things, he’s grown so much, and he’s still the hardworking man we saw in this video🙏🏻

    Heard about Pecos a year or so ago and will tell you he's everything they say he is. A real respectable young and upcoming cowboy. He understands that being a cowboy is a hard, painful, and unique road that's travelled with many bumps and bruises throughout one's life and rodeo career

      I can’t imagine how old he is in 2024. It’s crazy and him being on a horse just two weeks old and going to a high school rodeo where he can’t even hold his own head. That’s insane to me.

      @@octaviusfok4186 I'll explain, as I am around rodeo. These animals are bred specifically for this purpose. The calves that they use for roping are the toughest calves in the country. Not to mention rodeo livestock are the best treated livestock ever. Did you know that, contrary to popular belief, rodeo broncos only buck if they are happy? Sick/injured/neglected/abused livestock refuse to preform. Also, rodeo livestock get injured way less than humans that play sports. The injury rate of rodeo animals is astronomically low. Only 0.05% of animals will ever have injuries (Obviously does not include natural illness). That means that one in 5,000 animals will get injured in their whole career. Rodeo riders get injured way more times than that. Almost 25% of tie down ropers will get injured during their careers! And over 90% of bull riders will have injuries! Nowadays, there are over 60 rules and regulations regarding humane animal care both in and out of the arena! I hope this clears up any concerns about animal welfare in rodeos! Here is a link to the PRCA's livestock rules if you want to further investigate: www.prorodeo.com/prorodeo/livestock/livestock-welfare-rules Have a good day!

      my_perfect life You mean you like breaking horses legs, throwing goats to the ground (whilst terrifying them), breaking the peace of leaving bulls alone (they were not made to be ridden), possibly breaking their elbow, forearm, knee, cannon, pastern, and in the worst cases their shoulder. (This can both work with pole bending and barrel racing).

    Think about how well this kid is going to be prepared to endure and survive the knocks of life. I would describe this film as a demonstration of one of those things IN life that, with brutal honesty, shows you what you’re made of, but also how much of that is in your own hands. Combining that with the strength of his faith, and his understanding of where TRUE strength and power lies, and having given his life over to the greatest of powers, living fearless, unassailable by the powers of evil, and able to stand clean and righteous before a most Holy God, NOT by his own power, but by having embraced, through Christ, the all-encompassing forgiveness offered by that very same Holy God. … All of that taken together, is the formula for what we see before us here - one formidable young man. … He will NOT be told what he cannot do, nor will he writhe in crippling guilt and self-doubt ... and if God be with him, who will stand against him? Who is greater? The One who is in him, or the one who is in the world? As far as I’m concerned, such is the Kingdom.

    I found this so interesting to see how people ride western/rodeo, I myself ride English so I like to see how other styles of equestrianism is ridden in. I think that every equestrian out there is tough because you are , no matter what discipline you ride, are dealing with a big animal. I do showjumping, of course there is the risk of falling and getting stood on and breaking ribs on the jump poles. I also do cross country, we're there is the risk of hitting your self on solid jumps. As well as dressage, you have the risk of falling off, it might feel like a tiny fall but could get injured very badly!!!🐴

    • @laurelcook9078
      @laurelcook9078 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ride English too for the most part, but I always find western to be my comfort place because it can be easier to maintain my balance with my center of mass shifted lower down into my upper leg versus in my hips. (Your leg position is more of a squat when riding English whereas in western it’s like standing a bit. I find it a bit wobbly to balance with my legs straighter but I can totally have a deeper seat this way whereas my seat while riding English is very hard to find.) I actually ride wenglish (western in English tack because I don’t have western tack) after a lesson and it’s nice when I score a western horse because they go right into a relaxed western state when they feel my legs are longer and my mouth contact is minimal.
