Margery was the only one who truly understood how dangerous Cersei was and what she was capable of. Unfortunately, she was trapped in a position where there was nothing she could do about it.
I was so glad that the sparrow got taken out with this blast, but at the same time I was very upset about Marjorie being taken with him. She definitely didn’t deserve it.
Natalie did an amazing job playing Margaery especially in this scene. The grace she still held in the moment of crisis, anger, and panic. Just in the way she says the word "anyway" there is such grit behind it
Cersei being the Mad Queen makes much more sense than Dany. It's foreshadowed mostly in AFFC and descriptions of her being "all wildfire". I also remember a scene where the Tower of the Hand (?) was burning and Cersei was in awe. And also the fact that there are tons of wildfire beneath King's Landing and Cersei knows this.
yes! let’s not forget she pretty much killed tommen and was ok with it. she didn’t physically kill him but i think she knew once margery died that would send him over the edge especially how much he loved margery and how truly innocent he was all he was consumed about was her not the crown. also lets not forget cersei had lost her daughter not too long before that and i feel that’s when she started going into madness. after that she was like fuck it the seer told me all my children will die why not prove her right what else i got to lose? only got the crown to gain. also the seer warned her margery would be her downfall and that escalated the madness
💯 i never ever thought dani truly ever fit mad queen even with kings landing, they messed up the last season so bad and quickly wrote everything I feel like..
I can't imagine what that must be like. Knowing you're gonna die now and knowing the reason why you can't escape is that people around you are idiots who won't listen to you. EDIT. Yall do realise that everyone in this sept is about to burn to death in a minute, don't you? Quit being so melodramatic. The music in this scene, all the actors hit every line perfectly, it all was all exceptional. One of the best scenes in the whole series. Natalie Dormer is a force in all she is in.
I get goosebumps everytime I see this scene. Natalie Dormer is underrated and unappreciated when it comes to this series imo. Like yes she’s beautiful and that’s all I see at least that people talk about when it comes to her. but some of the best acting in the kings landing scenes came from her.

Would you mind going into why? I understand the acting is great and the music is incredible but in my opinion, from a writing standpoint it makes no sense. The sept is literally a holy site, you can’t blow it up and kill countless high nobility, a cult and all the smallfolk without being assassinated essentially instantly. I feel soemthing of this magnitude should’ve incited a riot in kings landing and a uprising against her as queen
@@tamaiofthesea The lack of follow-through on the scene isn't the fault of the scene itself. If you pretend the next two seasons never happened and just take this scene on its own merits, it makes perfect sense. Cersei is rash, petty, vindictive and impulsive. She was losing the game, so instead of losing with grace or going into hiding, she flipped the board and set it on fire. She would absolutely bomb her own capital, kill several members of a powerful, very popular noble family and murder thousands of her own people just to avoid losing. Totally in character. The problem is that the show skips over the logical consequences that would result from this - i.e. Cersei would either be forced out of power or have to crack down so hard on dissent that she'd honestly make the common folk miss Joffrey - because it would be inconvenient for the plot if Cersei was as unpopular as this should logically make her with her people (you can't turn Dany into a war criminal if Cersei is so hated that everyone Dany encounters _immediately_ switches sides to back Dany's conquest of Westeros. And since Cersei is unlikely to still be in power by the time Dany arrives in the books (she's powerless at the moment and a new claimant to the throne that the show left out has entered the picture - he's probably going to take over from Cersei before Daenerys arrives,) there would almost certainly be actual consequences in the book. Maybe she'll bomb her own city in the books too, and the resulting backlash will get her thrown out on her ass or killed.
@@Talisguy Well said. It's amazing how many people don't see this, but still moan about seasons 7 and 8. The problems in seasons 7 and 8 were to a large extent caused by the brilliant climax to season 6 putting D&D into a narrative corner they didn't have the intelligence to get out of.
God I loved Margery. She was a kind and sweet Queen and cared for the plight of the people. Equally she was cunning and intelligent. Politically ruthless like her grandmother but she cared about the innocent. Cersei was right to cower and fear of her because Margery was everything she wasn’t. A good Queen.

Cersei brought it upon herself. She played with fire and got burned. Cersei put the Sparrow in power, if she never did that she wouldn’t have been shamed. She was the “biggest sinner” and for some reason thought she was untouchable.
@@Na2Ocean I disagree. 1.5 at best. She was responsible for Joffrey being a mad dog who needed to be put down. Tommen was the opposite problem. He was a weakling. He'd have jumped eventually when Ser Pounce passed. But Myrcella? Nah. Tywin's fault maybe. But the Sandsnakes and the mother were nuts to kill her.

Cersei took out a top tier player in Margery. The Sparrow had a nice short run but he made one mistake & it was a massive one. Ironically Lancel - who was an absolute joke never gets credit here. He grew up a lot over the series & did well during the Battle of Blackwater Bay. Held his own even when injured. And ALMOST leveled up to the point of stopping Cersei. Almost....

@@UnfazedPhoenixI see we have the most sane devotee of the entitled Mad Queen here. To borrow a phrase, "She's crazy and needs to go down." Almost anyone else would have been a better ruler of Westeros. She might have been good in Slaver's Bay as a choice to rule because slavery needed to be broken for good. But she viewed Westeros as her property and no one wanted her because Aerys II was just the final straw. Neither Jon, Tyrion, or even Varys were wrong for their actions against her. Cersei is vile for a lot of reasons but this isn't one of them. She saved the Kingdoms by saving her own neck. The Tyrells were going to make her mistake exponentially worse. No one wants to be ruled by the mullahs of the Faith of the Seven. Theocracy is never good.

I still hate how literally nobody was listening to Margaery even when it was obvious that Cersei and Tommen weren’t there because everyone in the Sept was going to die.
They were religious fanatics who believed their own Kool aid which is what killed them in the end..
They were all caught up in their religious ferver thinking a revolution had come, it had not.
Obvious as an omnipresent fly on the wall jumping from scene to scene. Not obvious if you are there with limited pov. Use your brain
I think if the sparrow had a minute more to think about it he would have agreed to leave
I'm not so sure about that. The sparrow couldn't see past anything that he wanted or felt was righteous, in his own mind
He only realized bcs he heard it
I don't think so, the Sparrow was a fucking fanathic.
I doubt it. He is too greedy for power. To leave would be, in his mind, admitting that he and the gods are not as powerful as he wants everyone to believe.
@@elizabethurien3280 No, the sparrow not leaving makes sense even though he knows something is wrong but if he leaves in the middle of the sacred ritual then it'll bring all his beliefs and faith into question and he'll lose everything anyway. Dude should've sent his entire army of fanatics to fetch the queen the moment they noticed she didn't show up, or even forcefully "escorting" her before anyone else even arrived because you can't risk missing out on the holy ceremony after all...
The wildfire was just a plot device introduced out of thin air anyway, because the write needed some way to stop them. What would cersei even have done if they didn't suddenly introduce insane amounts of wildfire that one crazy person has somehow been secretly collecting in the secret underground basement for his entire life?? This is just like a "Ohh, by the way, we have ten thousand nuclear bombs hidden under mt. everest..." plot twist.
This war is impossible to win, you know, unless you use the secret stash of enough nuclear bombs to end the world that we've been building in secret just tucked away all cozy in the basement all this time...
Some of the greatest acting/soundtrack/suspense OF ALL TIME🔥🔥
"Forget about the bloody gods and listen to what I'm telling you" - love how she delivers this line. One of the best characters.
Margery was the only one who truly understood how dangerous Cersei was and what she was capable of. Unfortunately, she was trapped in a position where there was nothing she could do about it.
Because she surrounded by idiots 😂
I was so glad that the sparrow got taken out with this blast, but at the same time I was very upset about Marjorie being taken with him. She definitely didn’t deserve it.
I just finished that episode and I felt the same way I was in here screaming like my team just lost the Super Bowl at the last second 😢😫
Same
This is one of the most wonderfully acted scenes in all of GOT!
Every scene Margery is in becomes amazing!
Dany makes as the Mad Queen they just didn’t give it enough time to develop, shame the final seasons were so rushed
yes! let’s not forget she pretty much killed tommen and was ok with it. she didn’t physically kill him but i think she knew once margery died that would send him over the edge especially how much he loved margery and how truly innocent he was all he was consumed about was her not the crown. also lets not forget cersei had lost her daughter not too long before that and i feel that’s when she started going into madness. after that she was like fuck it the seer told me all my children will die why not prove her right what else i got to lose? only got the crown to gain. also the seer warned her margery would be her downfall and that escalated the madness
@@voidelementI don't think she understood fully that Tommen would step out like that. At least the scene right after this suggests she didn't.
Dany was always meant to be mad, it just should have gone on an extra season or 2. Cercei was always messed up in the head though.
If you're still breathing to write the comment you're about to write, chances are that you don't know how Margery felt at that moment and that this is not the story of your lives. 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
I relate in real life.
I can I understand that, nobody listens to me in my family. 😊
More common than you would think.
Been there. Still made it out though.
@@joshuamoye5299 Did you died?
The music in this scene, all the actors hit every line perfectly, it all was all exceptional. One of the best scenes in the whole series. Natalie Dormer is a force in all she is in.
She really is good!
Neat of her to ask for everyone to leave not just herself at first honestly.
One of my favorite scenes..with the best music!💚
no words can describe the beauty of music
I get goosebumps everytime I see this scene. Natalie Dormer is underrated and unappreciated when it comes to this series imo. Like yes she’s beautiful and that’s all I see at least that people talk about when it comes to her. but some of the best acting in the kings landing scenes came from her.
But yeah let's keep the main thing, the main thing....Natalie is hot.
Seriously! Beauty is cheap, talent is priceless.
She was also excellent in The Tudors playing Queen Anne. She was made for these type of powerful parts.
@@TheAislynnRose ughhh yesss!! I mean I’ve only seen clips (been considering the whole show but I just can’t staaaand Jon Rhys meyers too much) but seeing all these clips has me feeling nostalgic soooo I may give it a go
@@maliaswett6199 I can understand. I do feel he did a very credible job as Henry, if not in looks but definitely in spirit, especially early Henry. Natalie is the stand out here. Her portrayal of Anne is one of the best I have seen and the chemistry btw her and Henry (Johnathan Rhys Meyers) is what makes the whole series. So if you can stand it, well worth the re-watch. Lol
I knew the second they made her do the walk of shame, the church was doomed
This scene, is one of my favorite scenes for GoT.
Yep seeing burning people alive
I hope this happens in the next book
My girl thought playing a dove in a mans game was going to help her win. The sparrow only cared about what he thinks is right. All died
Should have taken the sansa route, be annoying and do absolutely nothing of any value and somehow for no reason at all, become queen.

Wow margaery would have been really interesting if they hadn't fucking murdered her with the rest of the decent KL plotlines and then given Cersei precisely zero problems about it. She certainly did understand the consequences for her actions: there were none. (Other than Tommen. I wonder what happened to Ser Pounce)

Incredible actors….. truly, all of them are so amazing.
My favourite 10mins of the whole show, and a great piece of music to accompany.
Separation between church and state, à la Cersei.
Ya physical separation since the church was probably 50ft away from the state for a second lol
Here is the stuff of nightmares: imagine if Olenna had married Tywin and Marjorie married Tyrion.... Holy shit.... The cunning and intellect would be formidable.
if you thought there would not be consequences for making her walk naked through the streets, you don't have the slightest clue who Cersei is
THIS
Same Ik she wasn't gonna let it slide, and all of them were so dead
Cersei brought it upon herself. She played with fire and got burned. Cersei put the Sparrow in power, if she never did that she wouldn’t have been shamed. She was the “biggest sinner” and for some reason thought she was untouchable.
@@Na2Ocean I disagree. Even if it wasn't smart of Cercei to give the sparrow any form of power or legitimacy, no one else is responsible for the walk through the city but the sparrow, since he ordered it. That wasn't even really necessary (from a strategic perspective).
And the biggest sinner? Oh please...
I did enjoy how tommen didn’t hesitate, he understood in a second, what he lost and what he had remaining with him,
Even if Marjorie had left when she realized, she still would have died. Look at how wide the blast radius is.
Cersei killed all her kids with her actions
Marcella wasn't her fault
Neither was Geoffrey he was a monster and olenna didn't want her granddaughter marrying him
1.5 at best.
@@michaelshelton7196 myrcella died cuz oberyn died, oberyn died cuz he had to fight the mountain, who told the mountain to be the knight? And why must it be the mountain? Ah yes because she was so convinced her brother was her son's murderer and her proof is "because I know"

Am I the only one that sat here and watched Cersei’s reaction? I love Lena. But by Gods, Cersei was a sick, SICK individual. Perfect villain.
Inspired by The Godfather baptism scene, where all Corleone family business was settled.
She’s smiling with such satisfaction. It’s so ironic with that explosion she was so proud of, she also lost something irreplaceable
Tommen was the saddest scene afterwards. The one person who actually could have become a good king, broken by his mother, robbed of what I believe was genuine love
The music was delectably wicked in this scene 💖
I haven't seen a scene since that equals the emotion this did in real time. Well put together.

This episode gave me chills everytime I seen these scenes. And this incredible music... 🔥
They were playing chess with Cersei with mate in 2 moves, Cersei just flipped the chess board.
This is the saddest part of GOT!! I love the Tyrells! They are very different in the books, and I hope they at least survive there!
I remember watching this the night of its release. I was like oh holy hell!!!
She was smart! Loved the character and the actor! Natalie Dormer did great as Margaery!❤
Almost....
The different cut scenes and the background music escalating with each character really made this one of the best intro finale of a show.
Beauty with brain ❤
Nice said ❤️
They wrote out my favorite character (after Daenerys) in a cruel way 😢
And then it's like everyone forgot this scene even happened and called Daenerys mad for burning Cersei and Kings Landing to the ground. Cersei was a psycho narcissist she deserved it. Jon Snow is a traitor and Sansa is a prissy princess who understands nothing. Daenerys forever❤ i hope Drogon resurrects her and they burn it all 🔥🔥🔥
@@UnfazedPhoenixI see we have the most sane devotee of the entitled Mad Queen here.

This was an amazing plan, without any holes… she didn’t understand her cruelty, but knew her dominant personality. She was not expecting this to happen, but she did know something was up when mom and son did not show up. Knowing Cersei, and her not leaving meant something was up.
That scene in Reacher were they lock them bikers in the suv. " They call that a decapitation strike. When the enemys leaders are stupid enough to all gather in one place."
Honestly she is the only one that figured it out that something is wrong but unfortunately it took her too long to realize it, even if they would have successfully made out of the building the explosion their chances of surviving would have still been Slim defending how far they would have made it away from the blast radius.
I hate to see Margery die, but damn I love Cercei's Smile 😊
Even after all this time this scene sends the iciest chill through my bones. The feeling of hopelessness, the hindsight reel playing every ignored decision.
breaks my heart for margery, however on the flip I laughed at her face. The relief and satisfaction is just a pleasent poetic note to end the High Sparrows terror.
Everytime I see this scene, I'm asking myself if he was just stupid beyond or if he couldn't see what was coming, bc he was narrow minded beyond anything that wasn't something he wanted.
He knew she was telling the truth but his ideology superseded her warning. He was a true cult leader and brought down so many.
He was stupid, arrogant and piece of shiiit with no right to dictate others in the name of God. Definitely top 3 most hated characters from GOT.
He believed his own bull. Cerci used their whacked abusive religious notions to kill them all.

The way she says "There's something wrong" ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The background music of this episode was just simply perfect.
It was so stupid how Cersei suffered NO consequences at all for blowing up the sept with all the sparrows. All the peasants would have revolted at the very least
Meh, the peasants were on borrowed time anyway. They all got BBQ'ed in the end, and if they hand't they'd just have starved during winter.
One of the saddest days of GoT when the hottest female in Westeros got killed.
I loved that scene so much. I understand why Margery was there, but her whole family didn't have to be there.
Her brother was on trial, that's why her dad was there also.
That smirk on Cersei's face...she doesnt realize it'll be smacked off when her baby boy, Tommen leaps from the tower window as a result of his grief over Margerey's death!
It was such a an epic episode and perfect execution. Cersi must of felt a huge sign of relief n sense of power. It's too bad it cost her the only son left that she loved so much in the end.
Similar to Kevan in the books. She was far too smart so she had to go rather be outplayed. She could’ve lived if it weren’t for the idiot Sparrow
Her and all those people in the sept.
You know what would’ve been a huge subversion since that’s what dumb and dumbass were obsessed with? Being more elusive with who died in this scene.
If we were just shown the explosion and not all of them burning, then there could have been a chance someone survived. Imagine Margaery survived and is horribly disfigured and in hiding.
Not sure where her story would go after but it’s way more interesting than killing everyone off.
Why couldn't they at least let her out?
They didn’t believe her, also they suck
