@@jessieburton4104 everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but the movie wasn’t great compared to the musical. Emma and Alyssa’s relationship was sidelined. Alyssa instantly forgave her Mam as did Barry, which is unrealistic. Also, the singing wasn’t that great and songs were cut.
Andrew Rannells was great, but personally, I feel like Christopher Sieber has a bit more of that awkward "How do you do, fellow kids" vibe to him that sells the comedy more in this scene. Him being a little bit older also helps

A little detail I find adorable is when Trent sings to Shelby and her boyfriend comes over to help her just in case. To me at least that’s really sweet
I’m auditioning for Trent in a local production of The Prom next week. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for so many reasons but especially because this song is SO fun
