When she entered the Miss Universe contest she signed a contract saying that she would maintain her weight and appearance as they were at the time of the contest should she win. The committee that made the rules for the pageant wanted to fire her and take her crown because of that. Trump didn't think that would be fair and wanted to work with her to abide by her contract. That is the reason why her weight was relevant. It may be a problem, but it was hardly one Trump created and he wasn't discussing it to be cruel or insult her looks (he even said she was "beautiful" then).

When she entered the Miss Universe contest she signed a contract saying that she would maintain her weight and appearance as they were at the time of the contest should she win. The committee that made the rules for the pageant wanted to fire her and take her crown because of that. Trump didn't think that would be fair and wanted to work with her to abide by her contract. That is the reason why her weight was relevant. It may be a problem, but it was hardly one Trump created and he wasn't discussing it to be cruel or insult her looks (he even said she was "beautiful" then).

The story that lingered and stunk up the newspapers for months, was the "Bill Clinton, blue dress, and the young beautiful intern" story. Now, this story was offensive, sexist and cost taxpayers millions of dollars and everybody painfully remembers it.
Trump has said many nasty and shallow things about women in general, but that doesn't particularly bother me about him. What really bothers me is that he is running to be President of the United States despite being woefully unqualified and a pathological liar. As for the cost to taxpayers over the whole Clinton Lewinsky ordeal, that was because the Republicans decided to make a huge deal out of it. Not because it was having such a hugely negative impact on the American public, but because they couldn't stand to have a Democrat as president and wanted to do whatever they could to impeach him.
