I loved Raphtalia’s tail wags of happiness from having a close moment with Naofumi. Then her arm sinking into Filo’s feathers & falling asleep on her knees was a hella adorable moment.

I would like to point out that when Raphtalia put her arm into Filo, the feather fluff accepted her WHOLE ARM.

If you've ever seen a bird puff up when cold or trying to dry off, you would know that this level of fluff is actually realistic compared to her body size.

@@Boxish Additionally, if the clothes he is wearing is actually cloth armor, such as a gambison, it would actually provide horrible insulation on account of being all layered cloth with no dead air space between the layers.

Well from experience with other rpgs it might just grant a shield that allows use of "slow fall" and/or turns it into a pillow shield. Hey if it's gonna be stuck to him it may as well make itself less inconvenient while sleeping.

Everytime I see this moment, I'm always baffled by Raphtalia's maturity (considering, she's chronologically 10 years old). Let's take to the account, just how much suffering Raphtalia had been through (yeah, as far as anime progressed, we weren't supposed to know that, at this point), dealt by human hands, no less, it wouldn't be surprising, if she'd been even more aloof to Melty's presumed death, than Naofumi was, but that wasn't the case. Seriously, Raphtalia is cutest thing there is, but it is her moral excellence, and emotional maturity, that makes her the waifuest of all waifus.

It actually makes sense, if you think about it. The bodies of many birds look much larger than they really are because they have deep, fluffed out plumage. If you were to hypothetically pluck out all their feathers, their bodies would look a lot smaller.
I understand the effect. Birds emit a level of warmth unlike any other.
I think Filo's feathers just might have the power to cure Raphtalia's nightmares.
Melty having her hair all natural is really damn pretty. She Could Rock that hairstyle and still be an adorable badass.

@@estebanzhang9139, I mean, technically you could. But, most people, when you ask, "how are you?" or "are you okay?", They'll say, "I'm fine" and that's all they give you. If you try to ask for more than that, they'll start asking what's up with you and trying to figure out why you're asking. And if you ask, "whatcha thinking about?", 90% of the time, they'll say, "nothing much", or something along those lines. Getting a straight answer that has any meaning to a straight question like those is next to impossible. And that's mostly because people don't like to talk about their feelings and will more often than not, bottle up said feelings and not talk about it, even when prompted to by close loved ones. And in cases when it's not an emotionally open relationship (which is unfortunately, a staggering number of relationships because people are insecure and are afraid of hurting their loved ones or being a burden on them), often times their romantic partner may be one of the least likely people they'd choose to speak openly to about emotional turmoil, because they're afraid of what it might do to their relationship. In my experience, probably about 80% of clues to somebody's emotional state is in their body language. Little variations from the norm. They way they walk, eye contact, their speed when going about their daily business, etc. And about 15% is in the tone of their voice, regardless of what they're saying. Only about 5% is in what they actually tell you, in most cases. A lot of your less socially skilled individuals are bad at picking up on these little details.
