I can say that when I met Charlton Heston in person when I was 11 years old. He was the nicest, most polite person I had ever met. I was with my parents on top of a hotel in Las Vegas and we were people watching. There was a mini-golf up on the roof and Mr. Heston was there playing with his family. Like a thoughtless kid. I ran up to him and interrupted him with his family to talk to him. He stopped, talked with me. This was in the early 1970s and I had watched planet of the apes and the omega man and told him how much I liked them. What a great guy and a wonderful memory.
There's defitnetly times in the series when it really pulls on your heart strings.Its also so sad the way Bill Davis, Giels French and Buffy s lives played out in real life

When Family Affair came on television I had a crush on Kathy Garver, I was a 13 year old teenager back in the fall of 1966. Her acting on Family Affair was great. The entire cast on Family Affair was great.

I saw her in a tv commercial for a phone for seniors recently. I couldn’t remember where I knew her from at the time but now I remember! I watched that old show a lot in the 70’s when I was little.
My sister and I loved watching Family Affair every week! Back in the 1970's my family and I went to Disneyland and my dad said "hey, isn't that the guy who plays the father on Family Affair?" Yes, it sure was! Brian Keith and his kids were walking around Frontier Land having a great time. I wish we had gotten Mr. Keith's autograph.
Forever a part of my 60s childhood TV viewing, she looks good and so glad she is still with us, "Family Affair" a part of the Golden Age of TV, I'd gladly watch reruns of this instead of the "garbage " that passes for TV today...

Nice interview. Ms. Garver is financially smart and, it seems, one of those actors with the golden touch. The Rapper M.C. Lyte is also career and financially smart like Ms. Garver. Younger performers need to view this You Tube and read her book to learn how to survive show business while enjoying long fruitful careers.

Great to see this interview with Kathy Garver. She’s looking great! Never knew she was a Meglin Kiddie. I was for a long time, too, but about six years before Kathy, up until the time Ethel Meglin retired. Also a busy child actress, it’s too bad our path’s didn’t cross.
Btw, interesting that we both worked with Shelley Winters. My experience was very different with her. I was seven, and played her daughter in an episodic tv show. Ms.Winters continually complained about her lines, the camera angles, and even the red color of one of the cameraman’s shirts, which distracted her!
I didn't know it at the time, but Kathy and I performed on the same stage one night, some years back now. I caught a lot of what she was doing, and was quite impressed, and later J was told she wanted to speak to me, and when I asked who she was, I was told Cissy from Family Affair ! Well, I had a crush on Cissy growing up, so was pleased as punch to speak with her for a good while that night. And thanks so much for this great interview, upload !
