Sir, which vertical loads and moments shall be used now, for the design of a single pile shaft? Should the PILE CAPACITY be used as vertical loads for the structural design of the shafts? Moreover, which moments shall be used?
I intend to design one shaft & 'm trying to use it for the rest of the piles

Hi there, How the point spring property (AE/L) have been calculated? Which code does it refer to?

Vertical Spring can be calculated by = Working Load/settlement
Working Load can be taken from soil report or can be estimated by this formula = 0.25*fcu*Area of Pile
Settlement can be taken 1% of the diameter of Pile

Sir, thank you very much. Your videos are so informative. Can I ask how to design a slab on grade using safe or etabs? Up to Eurocode 2 please. Part of the slab is on piles, the other part is on ground (ground bearing slab), Including reinforcement calculation. Also, can you please share this excel file in your video? Many thanks

Very Clear and Concise. Excellent work. This is as good as CSI videos if not better. Thank you.
However, you did not input the lengths of the pile in SAFE, will that be an issue? Is it because you chose point springs....
Also, why did you chose point springs instead of line springs? Is it because you only wanted to find out the reactions and punching shear, but you didn't inted to find the buckling failure of the piles?

Are you sure.... the constant of the pile is calculated using EA/L ?... wath about the settlement of the pile ?... and also... the pile is confinated by the soil so its more than a short column isnt it ?

Sa: allowable settlement of pile singe
